Add a soul trap for that Djin Blade quick!!!

I have a question...before I toss mine in. Are the rules limiting points on wargear for older codexes in effect or can we equip them with whatever as long as it is legal?

Game plan: Any slow hero, kite him with devourers, using paroxysm to shut down their own shooting (if actually dangerous) or life leech to increase your own.

Against fast heros (bikes, cavalry, etc), position yourself to get the charge if possible, paroxysm before attacking.

They hit second (unless they have a banshee mask, in which case lulz). On the charge, you have +1 str and init. You reroll to hit and reroll to wound (against enemies T6 or less). Any wound you inflict is insta death on a leadership check, any to wound roll of 6 is just instadeath. At the end of each player turn, they need to take a Toughness check or take a would (w/ saves). Any time they inflict a wound, they have to pass an init test or take a wound (no armor saves). At the start of your turn, roll 1 die for each missing wound, on a 6 it regenerates.

A ton of points and no invul means you have to play it smart and use shooting and psychic powers to the best of your ability.

I was gonna put in my bet for the Shas'o- he would be hard to catch.

However, Autarch Jetbike goes one up.

Against the Shas'o, turbo boost out of los- next turn 18" charge range (no where to run or hide) one turn of assault would easily end the Shas'o.

Against extreme close combat opponents (Grey Knight grenades) just instant kill with the fusion gun. Against regular opponents, knock off a wound or two, cat and mousing, then mince the last few with the lance (hideous amount of power weapon s6 attacks on the charge).
I don't think so. Shas'O can move 12" per turn while still shooting, so the Autarch would need to end his turbo-boost within 6" to still be in assault range next turn. If he does end that close, he's taking 4 x S6/7 hits before being charged. He's only T3 with 3+ cover...failing one save means he's dead. The Gun Drones might even pin him.

Even if the Autarch does catch him, the Shas'O isn't jut going to keel over and die either...4 attacks, 4 wounds, S5, 2 ablative drones, 4++ save. Even if he does die, BAM, you take an automatic S8 hit!

Overall I don't see much that would beat a decked out Wolf Lord on a Bike. The Shas'O might be able to survive for a while by deploying in difficult terrain to avoid the turbo boost, and using JSJ, but with 2+/3++ he's not going to take many wounds from shooting and eventually he's going to get caught and just die.

You brighten my life like a polystyrene hat, but it melts in the sun like a life without love, and I've waited for you so I'll keep holding on without you.

220: CANONESS (sisters of battle)

She was a champ, hopefully the new dex gives sisters players something to work with.

Jump Pack- Useful for field position
Eviscerator (master crafted)- power fist, re-roll one hit
Inferno Pistol- 6" range s8 ap1 (instant kill something)
Cloak of St. Aspira (2+ armour)
Rosarius- 4+ Invul
Litanies of Faith (one free faith point, no test required)
Book of St. Luscious (stubborn on ld 10)
Mantle of Ophelia (ignores first instant death wound)
Bionics (if killed, gets back up on a roll of a 6)

She is truly a beast. 2 faith points stock and 1 with litanies (total of 3).
Ld test (ld10) to use act of faith as an IC.

Strategy- fly around and attempt to instant kill with inferno pistol.

When engaged in combat- act of faith 'spirit of the martyr' makes her save invulnerable (2+ invul). Nothing getting past that. if something does, ignores first instant death wound. 2+/4++ normally if faith runs out.

Act of faith 'hand of the emperor' plus 2 strength, bringing her to s8- instant killing.

Sisters of battle 'shield of faith,' ignores force weapons, also 5+ will neutralize any psychic power directed against her.

Touche'.

If I was controlling the Autarch in this match I'd turbo boost somewhere up the middle of the table, out of los and out of somewhere the Shas'o could move 6" and draw line of sight to. The Shas'o will eventually have to commit to a side, leading to a scenario as in chess, with a queen and a king only you checkmate the opposing king by crowding him into a corner.

On an unlimited board the Shas'o would have no troubles. In this scenario, however, he will be, inevitably, cornered. The flat out speed, the ability to fly over intervening terrain and the ability to also JSJ should trump the Shas'o. One wrong foot tho and he will be instant killed by the plasma rifle..

Vs the Jetbike Farseer the Shas'o would eventually fall to mind war (ignoring the drones). Whilst being unable to target the seer in return (through JSJ) not to mention fortune invul save.

Against all footslog characters in termie armour etc he should do very well if controlled appropriately.

Is there 100 more or less equal HQ in the game, if we can't select Special Characters, anyway ? (Note that I agree that it is good to forbid their selection)

Why can't IG field an HQ squad ? Do you think it will be too powerful against solo adversary HQ ?
