There is indeed a rule. I think RAI is that when you have no models you auto lose, but it does say if there's nothing left on the board you lose.

That's a good point. Just a quick question, in this are we allowing for we'll be back rolls if a Necron Lord is killed? I would assume that there would be as each side is only fielding 1 model and the concept of 'tabling' doesn't really mean as much.

Actually it was agreed upon in YMDC that that game ending would occur if you were wiped out and it was the end of the game. You'd loose no matter the score. As to WBB you should as you haven't phased out yet since you get the roll. A PF or TH would still stop that I believe.

So i am not 100% sure but since you have one model when it falls wouldnt you just phase out anyways since 75% of your army just died? Unless that happens after WWB rolls, not sure

Phase out is checked at the start of the necron players turn AFTER all WBB rolls are made.

Also @the PF or TH question: If there's a res orb on the lord (in this case) or one within 6" then no, you'd still get the roll.

sorry to casue so much confussion. Wanderingfox has got it though. With out the orb any attacks negating armour saves would stop the WBB. The Orb gives him a second, third, forth ......chance. Would be nice to add phylactery too but ran out of points.

Basically the res orb in conjunction with the Phase shifter gives him a 4++ with a reroll upon losing his last wound. Its better than a SS invul (75% chance to pass as opposed to a 66%). Plus with the Lord ignoring invuls with his own attacks, he can attrition the opponent down (unless he dies, which is entirely possible given that 25% chance to fail).

The thing with this challenge is that it will pretty much fall into a rock/paper/scissors situation:

(Rock) Grey Knight GM, TWC Lord, any character with ordinary infantry movement really

(Paper) Tau Commander

(Scissors) Charaters on bikes/jetbikes/with Jumppacks or equivalent

The Tau Commander beats any character on foot thanks to being able to kite them for infinte amounts of time.

Characters with faster than infantry movement can close with the Tau commander and kill him.

Most rock characters can kill any scissor characters.

Of course, there are exception, eg: TWC lords can catch the Tau commander if they manage to get close enough/fleet well, Wolf Lords on bikes are usually the match of most Rock lords, some Rock characters can shoot somewhat effectively (GK GM, Hive Tyrant) etc.

But basically it will follow that formula.

If memory serves, you can use all your grenades in the same phase.
