I've been thinking about this all day and I can't get below about 20. I've got too much love to go around! Maybe I should be going by some kind of 'times viewed' statistic.

The thin red line!? That was one of the most dull films Ive ever seen Sebster! I read the book when I was in Iraq though and enjoyed it a lot, so maybe my reading experience poisoned the film, but Jesus it sucked!

Edit: Regained my senses.

I actually enjoyed all of the 4 I recognised, so I figured I'd look it up. I typed Richard the Third into Rotten Tomatoes and it received 95% on the trusty tomatometer.

Before I get a copy, you mean the 1995 one right? Not the 1955 one?

Yeah, but you have to get the version where this happens. Some of the DVD cuts are missing it.

I would say that I can't get as low as 5 too and that my lists of more than five would vary depending on mood, location, what kind of day I've had.

I could however watch Empire of the Sun over and over, the original, French, Taxi is also eminently rewatchable.

Hmm, very well. Probably something along the lines of this then.

Starship Troopers
Enemy at the Gates
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Lost in Translation
The Big Lebowski

In no particular order, those are the films I have watched the most. I have films that are more dear to me, but I tend to watch them less frequently because either a) I have to be in the mood for them, as Sattamassagana said; or b) they are too precious to be watched casually, whilst I'm doing some painting or something.

Idiocracy

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

My list

1. Batman, the Dark Knight. Not just the best comic book adaptation made, it's the best action movie ever made. Kick ass story, super creepy villains...
2. Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back. Vader will kill a bitch. Second movie on the list with a downer for an ending.
3. The Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring (Extended Version). While I enjoy all three movies, the first one is my favorite.
4. The Watchmen. I guess I like blue wang. Rorschack is a right bastard, but you have to love the guy.
5. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. If I catch part of this movie on TV, I will generally pull out my DVD and put it in so that I can watch it from start to finish (unless a ball game is on).

Now that I've made my list, I've scrolled back through other peoples. We seem to share a lot of the same tastes in movies. I'm not sure if it's the general over-lap in our ages (20s-30s), or that we're all on a message board for little plastic men.

Either way, I have a lot of DVD's to go buy now. I want to see some of my old favorites again.
