I'm starting to convert Smurfs now into SoB, so that when the new codex/models come out, I will be ready with a full assortment of models.

To glaze over the WD codex with such haste and indifference, it looks to me like this was released to help clear out the pewter shelves for more plastic in GW stores. I think the author wrote the rules, knowing they were going to be out-dated, and approached it with blatant disregard on account of the futility of the situation.

If he poured his heart and soul into the project, it was meant to make sisters main stream again, and they were opening it to new players, Sisters would have been on the cover. or at least, a bigger part of the magazine then a side bar notation. but it wasn't, they weren't proud, they knew that sisters fan's would be disappointed. So they didn't make a big fuss, didn't publicize it any more then nessicary. some kids who have a WD subscription are going through the pages and looking at the sheer number of flamers and meltas and drooling. all the old fans are fussing and criticizing. When the new codex comes out, The kids who had a hard time winning with his allowance money army is going to be rewarded with a new powerful codex and a more hardcore fan of the game then if he never even knew such an army existed.

This is simply a hold over production to clean shelf space and develop a more hardy fan. It looks like GW is saying "we did this with BA and Grey Knights. No point in complaining. You're not the target audience."

Deff Rolla them until they are grey goo. Apply boyz to flavor. Serve over ice.

Other.

It is having no effect.

I never played an SoB army.
i have played WH, but it had NO SoB units in it.

Those units are now part of my GK army (well, they were mostly from my DH army anyway. One inquisitor and a henchman were the differences).

Will the WD influence me into starting a new army of them?
No.
Would a new codex?
No.
Would new models help?
No. Much as I like Jes Goodwin's stuff, the SoB leave me cold.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Now that I have part 2: yes I plan on playing me some sisters.
Much like my flashgitz I plan on working for a sweet spot and not just mindlessly spamming full squads or taking min squads to unlock other things. It seems this codex needs exploration over blind list making.

Like them less than before. Waiting for the squatting, the merging (0-1 in a SM or IG army like LOTD in SM) or the plastics.

I would play them with the present Codex, it's not the greatest but I think it's playable. However, the miniature range mostly sucks and being all-metal, is rather inconvenient.

I have a serious problem with the number of 'no-brainer' includes in the Sisters list (as a result of most of the army being average).

I mean seriously, do you ever expect to see a list without Celestine/Jacobus? At least try to make it so there's some thought involved in army building...

These sound like schools of religious thought. The Squatters - a nihilistic cult predicting the end times for Sisters. The Plastics - dreamers of a glorious apotheosis for the Sisters. The Mergers - those who hold a middling ground kind of approach.

We haven't received any of these mythical White Dwarves with the Codex in them. I keep checking the shelves, and they keep not being there.

I've been playing them for 4 years now and I will continue to play them. I'm going to be damn frustrated as this new dex didn't address any issues that the WH codex had and in fact introduced new issues but I will play as it will only make me a better player. Hopefully they get a real codex soon. Sisters have been my favorite army since I started playing those 4 years ago. I liked the look of them and the background material (such as it was).

I obviosuly don't like this codex, but you play with what you have.

My wife painted and collected them as her first army. I used her army and did well with them, even taking LA gamesday overall once back when it drew 60-80 players. I loved the feel of the 3rd edtition book and felt is was even respectable in the current edition. This new list pretty much made my wife shelve her entire army and I have not bothered to touch them, either, outside of the models they share with my GK army (eg Inquisition models that are simply superior in the GK book for a variety of reasons).

I think you would have to go back to third edition Eldar (Vanilla) to find a worse and more bland army list. Seriously, the current (soon to be replaced) Necron book is better than this pile of feces. The only play the models see now is as Inquisitoral retinues in my GK list.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
PS- Hopefully they have someone (ANYONE EVEN JERVIS IS FAIL AT LIFE JOHNSON) work on the actual book. IF its at least on par with Vanilla marines, I will play it. After seeing my Nids get buttraped into stupid Tervigon and Hiveguard spam, I am not sitting though another Cruddacing.

Ha, wait a minute, you're serious, and who do you want to write it?
Gav thorpe would just make them even more unforgiving than the already are, robin cruddace would just make them worse than they already are, so, why not have ward do it? He's had far more success than any other writer.

Because if Ward wrote the new codex then they all the battle sisters would become infatuatited with ultramarines.

And try to have their babies. At least the sisters would "know no fear" during the birthing process.
