As for height Alpharius is right, though the marines and primarch were of varying size. I know Magnus was the largest primarch.

I tried being normal but it's boring so now I'm back to being insane

The distinction is that the post-heresy clones were done by the Emperor's Children with Horus' stolen corpse in an attempt to have their own pet superprimarch, whereas Abaddon, if a clone, is almost definitely a creation of Horus himself.

edit: plus, the Black Legion don't actually know Abaddon is a clone-son.

From what I hear Alpharius is the shortest Primarch.

I'm quite sure it'd be somewhat impractical if a Primarch would be unable to go into battle with his troops due to having issues getting his 14-feet-body into a transport.

To be fair, they don't have to be twice the height to be twice the size.

The only definitive statement I have seen on a Primarch's height is Lion El'Jonson being just shy of three meters tall, if he had similar or greater musculature for his build to a Space Marine, then him weighing nearly twice as much isn't too unreasonable IMO, and he would appear utterly massive to them.

Depends what source you use.

The original Index Astartes put him as almost the same height as Horus, with the rest of the marines in the Alpha Legion being very tall as well.

The latest HH books seem to be going the other way, with Alpharius and Omegon probably coming in at 9' give or take, with some especially tall marines in the Legion being able to pass themselves off as the Primarch(s) at times.

To be fair, we already know from Aaron's blog post that strict adherence to current studio material is apparently not a requirement for the HH novels. Or any other Black Library book.

When an author has sufficient artistic license to change armour details to suit his personal preferences, he's probably free to add or take one or two feet in height as well.

Just roll with what suits your interpretation the best.

"I'm Alpharius!": Alpharius always starts the game in reserve, even in missions that do not normally use this rule. When Alpharius becomes available, replace any Sergeant not engaged in close combat with Alpharius. If Alpharius loses his last wound, immediately roll a D6. On a 4+ replace another Sergeant with Alpharius as if he has just arrived from reserve. If no Sergeants remain in play, or on a roll of 1-3, Alpharius is removed as a casualty.

The primarchs, even in the Horus Heresy novels, are allegorical, near-mythic figures - Sanguinius would have to have been not merely strong but bloody enormous to lift a Bloodthirster and break its back across his knee, for instance. There's no essential discontinuity in their simply being whatever size is dramatically necessary at the time.

Alpha and Omega: While Alpharius is the leader of your army, one sergeant fights with the same stats and wargear as the primarch.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it.

Also, since your rule does not specify a sergeant on your side, Alpharius can be any of the enemy sergeants as well!

and if either of the Alpharus models are killed, roll a D6.

on a 2+ it wasn't actually Alpharus(or Omegon), but was just a regular old Alpha Legionairre. another Sergeant immediatly becomes Alpharus.

i remember i head an interview on the GW site, the designer says seven ft in power armor...
that's the shortest I've heard

in fantasly flight's Deathwatch, the height is 2.1meters naked

i think in books they are usually described as a head or 2 taller than normal humans in 40k

You know what I think,

I think the GW designers are all 5'6" shorties who think someone that's 6'1" is super tall. so they make Space Marines a little under 7ft.

GW doesn't realize that 6ft+ guys are fairly common. 7ft, while out of the ordinary, is hardly unheard of(I know a family who's shortest member is 6'9")

Super Human height needs to be 7+ feet.

Someone who stands over seven feet tall and weighs over six hundred pounds of muscle and bone would be gigantic by human standards.

While not greatly outstripping him in height, professional wrestler the Big Show (Who is about seven feet tall and four hundred pounds) next to a Space Marine would look malnourished and girlish in build.

Though, I would say a Space Marine reaching a height of nine feet or even a little more is not completely out of the question, some, like Arjac Rockfist, are explicitly noted to be huge by even Marine standards.
