Yes, they aren't on Small (+2 POW) medium or large (1/2 ARM) bases. Armour Piercing does nothing to Battle Engines.

Probably best to ignore Worglock mate.

Re-read AP, it says Medium or larger bases. It does NOT specify Large Base. AP DOES affect Battle Engines.

You probably got mixed up with the Leviathan's ability, which specifies Large Base after Medium base.

I'm just gonna go grab the Cygnar book right now and check.

It does, in fact, say "Medium or Larger". So, again, barring any special rule specific to Battle Engines making them immune, which evidently there isn't, I reiterate my previous statement, which can be summarized thusly:

Hunters for the win, suck it, enemy Battle Engines.

Interesting. It'll be interesting to see if that or the Leviathan (and the Skorne weapons with the same ability) get updated in an upcoming errata.

Right, Burst Fire only specifies effects against Large bases while armor
piercing just says medium or larger. I'mnot quite sure whether or not
to expect an errata, but I'd play as if it were not coming and then act
all surprised if it does change.

I don't see this as stale. They had to put the new thing on the cover, so you see the
Circle Battle Engine in the corner coming up against the Legion of Everblight one. Maybe
those are the two Battle Engines that will fight like that.

Maybe those are the two that they are ready to feature inside the book itself.

As much as I would have loved to see the Troll Battle Engine or the Skorne one,
the lack of sneak peeks hints that those aren't ready yet, and so they won't
feature on a book cover because there won't be pictures in the book (outside
of artwork). Wrath had painted up pictures of the Storm Strider and Wraith
Engine model in it and both featured on the cover.

Haha! That's what I was wondering when I read the title of the thread.

Badass cover though. Those look like badass battle engines. Like something out of Heavy Metal Magazine. I get a classic fantasy vibe from the cover. I'm going to buy the book just for the cover. I'll buy the book rip off the cover and burn the rest. Then I'll marry the cover. Then we'll discuss the subject of children. Then we'll get in a big fight about how we can't afford kids right now. Then we'll divorce. Then we'll start dating off and on in a bittersweet love hate type of tying... but deep down I still will really like the cover.

I actually kind of like the legion battle engine. The concept of a floating octopi grabbing victims to be consumed in it's maw seems pretty rad. I do wish the top of the model was a bit different, it seems a bit tall.

Additionally, battle engines have no way broken the game, and armor piercing does affect them, so they can be quite easily taken down with the right models.

So this is the large war engine book for Hordes?

Any pictures of the models up yet?

I'd like to see the squid model...

weird choice for a cover

i like the art but in terms of it being a cover it kinda fails

I feel like instead of putting these epic battles on the cover like what Wrath and Dominion are doing it would serve better as a two page spread in the book

or as a poster

Except you're still tossing 12 points after 9... And if it isn't immune to AP, it is to some of the other tricks like Disruption, Precision Strike and Penetrating Strike, which are Jack/Beast specific, And high ARM values have never really been Hordes strong suit anyway, particularly in Circle and Legion - also I wouldn't put past it having some form of regeneration ability.

A charging Angelius and/or Behemoth is a lot different from pinging it with Hunter longrifles.

Nope, just Skorne.

Circle get an Observatory, Trolls get what's essentially the Khador one pulled by Tuffalo, and Legion get a Tentacle Rapist.
