I would agree with that wraith guard are crazy expensive. I have 40 and I am glad I had an employee get them for me back when they could get bitz for 4 cents and ounce.

A squad of 10 Wraithguard with a Warlock is at least 375 points in game, 381 if you want them to count as troops.

So a full 6 troops with them is already 2286 points all by itsself. at

I made a mistake in my math. I accidently used the point cost in game as the cost of Wraithguard models. The Wraithguard models are $15 each. Which brings down the cost of the make beleive army, but still leaves it quite expensive.

The horde armies are generally the most expensive,
but there are always exceptions to this case, for instance if a friend sells you his army that he isn't using anymore for dirt cheap

If you go just by buying all new models then sisters is the most expensive right now. Id follow that with IG, just because to play them you need so bloody many tanks, Orks and nids after that. Now with eBay sellers doing lots of aobr, boyz got a lot cheaper and with Orks you don't have to buy a million transports cuz you can custom make your own out of whatever you want really or have a foot slogging army. With the swap shop you can find some great deals on just about any army, it seems Orks, nids and space marines are the factions people are always looking to trade/sell at a fraction of retail.

not sure about other countries, but in Australia nids are the most expensive army. a hive tyrant is 100 buck at my local gaming store

I would think any army which requires a lot of models would be very expensive such as Orks or IG!

orks can get crazt expensive esp if you want a green tide with 180 shoota boyz modeled properly, or the aformentioned biker spam list

Standard ig or elysians are pretty damn expensive. 2000 points is easily £4-500.

probably the only reason nids are expensive here is because of the GST which is a tax from the government because they are cheap bastards

That doesn't make the entire army expensive. A pair of battleforces gives you all the infantry you'll need until you breach 2000 points. Add HQ/Elites/Heavy Support for flavour. Still doesn't come close to matching a Sisters of Battle army in Australian dollars.

I have never seen a sisters of battle unit so I don't know how much they cost but from what ive seen nids are the most expensive

Drop pods shouldnt count. Its not like you use them for a troop. Choice or something; theyre just for deep striking guys in.

Or a foot slogging DE Coven which bar the Talos (which are still £28 each) it's all finecast.
