Sorry, but I think you mean 'I serve the Emperor', not 'I server the Emperor'.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it. |

Wow. Indeed.
Well written, even if it is a bit too much for me, in stretching the fluff xD

Luco: Incredibly well written, but as you said, it's a little too stretchy imo. Nevertheless very well done.

1st Éadrom Talamh ‘Floating Bees’
Planet: Éadrom Talamh (formerly Strambán Talamh)
A very small planet. Tall mountains uniquely formed into spires. Deep forests at the base of the spires broken up by large rivers. There are no seas on the planet, a result of a mad governor’s desire for a ‘green carpet to gaze upon’, while the planet was designated Strambán Talamh. A side effect from the massive land changes this governor brought about is the peculiar effect which this had on the gravity of the planet, effects which led to the planet’s name being officially changed to Éadrom Talamh. At the snow line, the gravity dramatically shifts from a regular, almost Old Earth level of gravity at forest level to a drastically reduced level of gravity in the spires. This effect becomes more significant the higher one goes, and space-faring ships are in fact able to engage themselves to tallest spires without being caught in the gravity of the planet.
This queer gravity has lead to the citizens of this planet developing in two different ways. Those who grow up below the snow line tend to live there, becoming used to the forest and the thriving industry in unique woods which Éadrom Talamh is famous for. Those who are raised in the spire mountains become adept at working in the odd gravity of their mountainous homes. They service the shipyards which have spread out from the peaks of the spires, and in doing so develop skills in the use of atmospheric and void-sealed craft for use outside of the atmosphere.
The Guard regiments raised from Éadrom Talamh have two distinctive halves. The first is those men recruited from the lowlands. These men are experts in conflicts in forested terrain, masters of stealth and tracking. They have limited armour support, as there are very few factories on the planet, and the forest is not the best terrain for armoured spearheads. The men recruited from the spire mountains approach warfare in a different way. They carry out manoeuvre warfare at an expert level, dropping from the sky in valkyries and vendettas, or simply on grav chutes, to engage the enemy at close quarters before disengaging from the contact, either by combat skimmer or the Mark II Standard Issue Boot.
Since their participation in the cleansing of their planet of the Chaos which had taken root in the governor’s office, the Floating Bees have been seconded to the Inquisition many times. This has lead to them painting a gold Inquisition symbol on a black field on their left shoulder pads.
In a related question, is this enough to start an article with? Over the next 2 months model pics and famous battles etc will follow...

As for your question, I am not sure. I would start an article with that if I were you, as it kind of (for me) spurs med into writing the rest.

Trying to come up with fluff right now to have my giant 5,800 point Chaos Horde have a grand 4-way melee with smaller Dark Eldar, Necrons, and Grey Knights armies I'll assemble. Probably the tired old formula of "they're all hunting an ancient artifact".

Best fluff I remember ever for a chaos thing was in a white dwarf. There was a list (about 15 things IIRC) describing why a zombie plague had broken out. And the final dot point took the cake. 'Chaos did it'

I have a few fluff threads with background to my armies:
My TrueScale Marines: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/368748.page
My IG (before I sold them): The Journal and Journey of Myraer Olen, Imperial Guardsman.
I have some on my CSM somewhere but I think it is on an old computer (as my webhost deleted it for some reason...).

Excellent, some fluff that folks are working on for their armies. This is no where to be seen at my local gaming club. I am the only one that likes the story behind an army and am to my knowledge the only one that names characters and gives them a background story. I shall have to read into some of these and will have to start posting some of my own for C & C. I'll get to reading all of these fluff jolts. Nice.
I have yet to name my Phaeron or my Dynasty, I am having a hard time finding one to stick. I look forward to seeing more fleshed out of this.

The Valian Second legion has a long and sordid history throughout the many galactic conflicts. Valia is a rocky, volcanic planet, which produces large amounts of raw metals that are always in demand. Tanks are next to useless on this planet, the inhabitants using mostly footslogging and large contingents of sentinel war-walkers. The Valian Second has been destroyed over 100 times throughout its history, and has been constantly reformed. It consists of large swaths of infantry, heavy artillery, and constant use of sentinels. Their uniforms are differently colored for each soldier; combat squads are determined instead by boot color. The soldiers are multicolored, because by this point, the administratum just doesn’t care. Soldiers choose and paint armor by themselves.

Matt: Don't worry about names so early if you don't want to. I didn't name anything until I had my whole dynasty's story in my head. Then I started to search for names to match that story. Before that every name was [PHAERON] or [ALLIED DYNASTY].
Then I sought out names from mythology, names of gods and spirits whom symbolizes the story of my dynasty. Oizys for one is the spirit of grief and woe (symbolizing what he constantly feels), while Danai is taken from Danaides, the daughters of Danau whom are cursed to carry water in sieves for all eternity (symbolizing the futility of what my dynasty is trying to do).

A bit of a Ward'ism isn't it? But this was was the first thing I had ever written for 40k so I hadn't quite got around to what I was actually saying but it sounded cool, hyperbole and all.
Thanks for the compliments!
