Work continues!

I've added the pipework and footrests, as you can see, but I've bent them and changed where they terminate. You might also notice that I've trimmed off the spiky bits from the front to give the bike a less decorated look as seems appropriate for a prospect.

On the other side I've added the footrest but cut the piping loose. The exhaust pipe is from Ramshackle Games (dug out from one of my many bitz boxes).

As you can see the integration isn't done yet but you can start to get an idea of what it's going to look like. I've not decided what the fairing should look like though - suggestions?

I had to laugh at the battle wound you suffered. I did myself pretty bad about a year ago under the exact same circumstances. I never throw away used blades becasue they always come in handy for 'jack hammer' jobs that you don't want to ruin a nice new shiny sharp blade on. Because new blades cost soooooo much.

It's such a common occurrence (nip here, slice there) that I've got a small box where I keep some gauze, Neosporin, and a box of Band-Aids under my workbench.
I keep plasters to hand as well as superglue and so forth to patch up my wounds. The photo of my thumb is after sealing up the wound!

I'm glad you like the design so far. I'm not entirely sure where I'm going with it but it's kinda fun finding out.

All of this is looking great. Keep it up.
Cheers, I'm excited for the new season of SoA and really want to get some more biker models on show, particularly now I don't have to sculpt the cuts by hand any more!

I was away over the weekend so I didn't get a chance to work on this, sadly, however I'm back now and I've been having a bash at what to work on next. First off, here's a reference image of Kip "Half-Sack" Epps' bike from SoA:

I'm not going for exactly that but closer to that than the more customised, Orky bikes of the rest of the chapter.

As you can see I've started on the legs, the torso is obviously one of my own biker torsos. I'll be sculpting the arms myself once I've decided on how the handles will look.
The back of the bike isn't really refined yet, I'm undecided on precisely how it'll all blend together just yet.

The fender won't be mounted on the wheel eventually, I've just sculpted it around there to make sure it has the right shape. Shortly I'll be prising it off so I add the detailing and attach it to the forks.

The 6mm BB is there to form the central lamp that'll be in the curved fairing I intend to build around it. Hopefully I can manage something suitable, wish me luck!

Truly cool stuff! And nice sculpting.

The prospects bike is looking great buddy, almost realistic. Loving the progress on this gang.

Really nice work so far, and especially impressive when one considers how much of a pain it is to work with the already lowered frame of GW bikes.

This is one of those threads where I go " an update!!!" and haven't been disappointed yet.

Thanks for the kind words, guys! It's really encouraging that people enjoy what I'm working on.

Time for an update!
Despite Johnny Lewis' recent death work has continued on the prospect bike:

Now there's handle bars, an arm, legs, some of the fairing (it's still got a way to go), and the front fender.

The back fender isn't quite done yet but it's taking shape and you can see the new seat structure too, so that's a plus.

The framework for the seatback hasn't been trimmed yet but it's coming together, as you can probably see.

I'm planning on sculpting the head from scratch but my current dilemma is about what to do with his other arm. I'm torn - on the one hand I could use one of Zinge's large Glocks (Half Sack's weapon) but Barka, my VP, uses one too, in the same hand. Alternatively I could use one of my own Berettas, or one of my machine pistols. It's a tough call. What do you guys reckon?

Looking good. Always loved Half Sack's bike.

Progress is looking great. As for guns... I don't know the show at all so I can't offer an educated opinion but from an Orky standpoint I'd go with the weapon that makes the most noise.

It's taken a while but he's finally ready for painting:

With the addition of the head and the arm he's now a complete sculpt (although the white parts are obviously casts but they're of my own sculpts).
When I get around to it I plan on sculpting some legs for him so he can be on foot too (he's magnetised at the waist) and I've got some arms that aren't quite done for him too.

Whatcha reckon?

I went for a Beretta in the end. I toyed with something bigger but he is just a prospect after all!

I have a Skaven warband that took nine years to finally finish. I got there in the end though!

I never did like how this bike turned out:

Too much empty space, too long, just ugh. So I took some parts out of it:

Then I started sticking some stuff back in:

As you can see it's a touch bigger than the other bikes but not substantially so:

Guess you found some time then to get back to these, major improvement shortening the bike

It's hard to get new moulds made when it's too wet to sling an extension lead to the casting shed and the sparky is taking his time to show up

Now whether they'll ever get fully painted is another matter!
