I've always wondered why basic Orkz aren't Str4, they're much bigger and stronger looking than Fire Warriors and IG. Also, just like one mob per army can become Ard, so should one mob also be able to become Skarboyz (Str 4, although this would only work if the strength situation isn't resolved)
Another nice thing would be the ability to upgrade warbosses specific to clan (eg. A Dethskullz boss would allow for more ard boyz, while a Moonz boss would allow more fancy weapons in squads). A similar thing might work well for vehicles (eg. Goff trukkz being able to carry 15 boyz, Blood Axes vehicles getting smoke launchers and camo netting.
One elites choice that is often not used is the kommando unit. They're just infiltrating boyz, and in the same way I fing with Sword Brethren, they're just regular troops with an overcosted and slight bonus, that take up a valuable elites choice. By giving them some anti-tank grenades and special rules that increase their survivablity, they'd become a much bigger threat, in a similar way to genestealers.

I always liked the way the tank bustas behaved in DoW. They could "infiltrate" behind enemy lines if you ran them up the side of the board and they made it across, they were great at tearing up the back line

I would re-do the entry for Ork Boys, dividing it into three discrete entries. Not because it would make Orks more powerful or anything like that, just for more variety.
#1: Yoofs: They would be the standard Boyz as they are now, but with no Furious Charge, Waaagh! or Mob Rule, costing 4 points. Unit strength 10-30.
#2: Boyz: These would have S and T of 4, a 5+ save Furious Charge, Waaagh! and Mob Rule rules, and would cost 6 points. Unit strength 20-50.
#3: Skarboyz: These would be veterans. S and T of 4, 5++ save, Furious Charge, Waaagh! and Mob Rule rules, with their weapon options being either twin-linked shoota or big choppa. They would cost 8 points. Unit strength 5-15. However, to retain a sense of balance, I would include a rule where for each Skarboy unit in the army, you must have one Yoofs unit.
I would also do something like Nobs riding big-ass squigs into combat. Yes, this was inspired by the WFB mangler squigs. They took away the ability to use my beloved cyboar boys in third edition, and I've missed them ever since.
And they need to include an Ork Warlord as an HQ, and make him a monstrous creature with T6, six wounds and impact hits, sort of like Ghagkhull's headbutt.

I'd like squigoths to be able to carry 30 boyz, but be more a good bit more expensive then wagons, due to increased cargo, wounds being better then armour (generally) and the ability to assault stuff. It would make sguigoth battalion builds really good, but it would keep them from replacing battlewagon brigade entirely. They also would not be dedicated, so max of 3 per army.

I like it but I would only do boys and skarboys.

I don't think it should be for the same price. A Skarboy should probably cost something like 12 to 15 points- not quite a Nob, with the extra wound, but more than a Boy.

Thought it was the same as boyz are now, like boyz as they are now. Just adding skarboyz would be nice, at an increased price of course, 12pts would be good don't you think?
I would like to see more weapons too being new just started last year and only have about ten matches under my belt but looking at the codex I think that would be cool. For instance, lootas only having one weapons, I think someone already posted this but give them an upgrade to like a "beamy" deffgun, much like a lascannon but looted- rng 36 str 9 ap3 hvy 1. Don't get me wrong I love my deffgunz, always seem to destroy my buddies defiler by turn 2, or at least destroy that damn battle cannon.
And maybe the burnas too, in the fluff it says that switch there SM, why not an upgrade for like a "kuttin bit", come to think of it that's porblaby way they have the burna as a power weapon in assault (if I don't shoot it!). Automatically Appended Next Post: Sorry correction on burnas meant to say in the fluff it says they switch their nozzles to attack heavily armored SM.

The problem with Flash Gitz is that they're priced AS IF the AP was actually D3. The other problem is that you can't make them much cheaper before people would just take them instead of Nobz, because they'd be TOO cheap compared to Nobz.
There are a lot of problems with Flash Gitz lol
AP D3 would make them worth their current price, I think they should be a little cheaper and just be Assault 3. As they currently sit, they are actually WORSE than 30 shootas + 3 Big shootas at reliably killing MEQ! And they cost nearly twice as much!

Sorry, but the loss of a 6+ save isn't even worth as much as an increase in S from 3 to 4, especially not when the unit has furious charge. Cheaper Boyz on top of that is just silly.

Boys should be str 4. Their arms are as thick as a guardsman's chest, at least twice as thick as their arms too. They should just be str 4, no price up either. Think it's op? I do too, but there is a word for increasing the power of something drasticly with little to no point increase or explaination, and it's called codex creep. GW would probably do it, so that they could sell more plastic boyz. I wouldn't be suprised o=if they upped the squad size and increased vehicle carry capacity, just so we would buy more. It'd work, too.

Honestly? Boyz are great. Leave them alone; it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. Even in this mech-heavy edition, even with cardboard transports and crappy weapon options, Boyz are STILL one of the best Troops in the game. The only thing I might change is giving them back the option to take burnas as a special weapon.
Move Lootas to Heavy Support.
DO SOMETHING about Flash Gitz. Either change them back to a Boyz statline instead of a Nobz (with commensurate points reduction) or make Snazzguns Assault 2. Also, make them an Elites choice, basically swapping them with Lootas.
Give us back a viable Looted Vehicle entry. One possibility; keep the current 'base' configuration, and add a LOT of options. Options to increase AV, mount REAL Ordnance instead of that crappy Boomgun, make them Fast and/or Skimmers. . . basically, let us model actual looted tanks again.
If that's not possible, make them AV 12 front and lower the cost of the Boomgun.
Similarly, make Killkannons cheaper, better, or both. Gunwagons should be a viable option, not the red-headed stepchild of Battlewagons.
Give both Looted Wagons and Battlewagons a Grot Gunners upgrade to make them BS 3.
Give burnas back their 2d6 Armour Penetration. If that means making them more expensive, fine. Orks need more ways to open cans, and I at least would be willing to pay a premium for it.
Give Orks at least one ranged anti-tank option. One possibility; make Kustom Mega-Blastas S9. In the 3rd Ed. codex they were S7 but Blasts, so basically Plasma Cannon; in this codex, they're just sort of. . . not valuable. Partially that's because you can't take more than 3 of them in any one place, and then only in units which are designed NOT to get up close and personal with tanks, but the other reason is that they're no better than rokkits at anything, except killing TEQ; and with Ork BS, trying to kill TEQ with KMBs is an exercise in futility.
Another possibility, and the simplest; just give Tankbustas back the Tank Hunters rule. Bam, suddenly that's a unit of S9 rokkits. It also immediately makes Tankbustas competitive again.

I would like to see Zogwort and the Wierdboyz get some psychic defense. Having nothing to defend ourselves from psychic powers it the suck.....ESPECIALLY against GK's.
Gitz just need to be an elite choice, Lootas moved to heavy support would make sense considering they have a heavy weapon, but I would get sadface if that actually happened. Maybe have an HQ that allows them to be taken as troops or an elite?
I would like to see Koptas get a Grot upgrade and moved to BS3, or make them fearless so it's worth it to have more than 1 in a squad.

Plastic fighta-bomba. It would have a rule called "suicide run" basically an attack run where the crazy pilot doesn't bother to pull up so he gets off more dakka. The fighta-bomba shoots twice and then crashes into its target.
Plastic warboss kit that allows for customization. I thought it would be cool to upgrade a warboss to have a certain persona. Stormboy bosses could have rokkits and allow one unit of stormboyz to be troops and so forth with other unit types.
I think one option that would make ard boyz more popular is allowing them to take a Battle Wagon as a dedicated transport.
Skarboyz. Maybe make them normal boyz with more options and I3?
Squiggoth. It can either be a headstrong warrior-beast that charges into the enemy or a lumbering gun platform carrier.

I would love crazier kit for everything. Allowing the player to attatch boomboxes to Trukks would be great-they could give a -1 initiative to all non-ork units in range or somethin
Also, greating a template for looting vehicles, making them open topped, with less back/sides our and more front armour, and changing the weapon stats etc. whilst also changing the cost somehow (less? More?) would be great as it would make a looted Leman Russ different to a looted Rhino.
Red vehicles getting the fast rule would be nice.
And better Stikkbombs.

Hate to break it to you, but the Ork Codex is one of the most competitive, easily matching any of the 5th edition books, which is why many 5th edition tournaments have seen Orks place well. Interestingly enough, the success of the Ork, IG and SW Codices disprove the existence of "Codex Creep".

If you take a look at my post again, i do say that orks are a solid codex. I just get mad when while gw makes new xenos codexes strong with powerful options, (DE, necrons) neither of these compare to the level of pick-up-and-win that most new marine codexes have. It is pretty simple to pick up grey knights with purifiers and psiflenoughts and win often, or some longfangs and thunderwolves, or manticores, vets, and vendettas. If you pick up DE and grab up dash's list, you will lose a bunch before getting your barings. Orks, while straight-forward in concept require you to well-understand what your weaknesses and limitations are to do well. I'm not saying that i want orks to be a herp-derp-i-use-this-list-and-win codex, but i'd like some harder, meaner stuff that i can here at least a few people cry out "BROKEN!" about. I just want some amn cheese, if only so i can scorn it after using for awhile in favor of lists that require more skill and strategy.

What I'd love would be a Deffgun upgrade option for Meganobz- at least as a "1 may" option per squad. It'd let you do slightly fancier Shenanigans, and be some nice longer range shooting for them, able to use their Relentless rule they get with SnP.
Or, something that does what their Stikkbombs did in 4th edition, letting them strike at initiative when they assault through cover.
Though I suspect some of the changes 6th might bring would fix a bunch of those issues. From what I see, it gives Flash Gitz an effective BS of 3, Meganob'z Stikkbombs have a purpose again, Tankbustas will be able to hit stationary tanks on a 3+ as well as taking away one of the major problems with Glory Hogs, and Deffrollas have been buffed a bit.
