1) Finish painting my 95 night goblins to round out my night goblin force to 300....
2) Try not to buy too many mini's.
3) Only open one box at a time, paint, than the next box. This alone made me finish painting around 3k points of necrons in a month. If I wanted to play with them I was going to have to have them all painted.
4) Prep for 40k new edition cause I want the collectors edition rule-book.
5) Prepare to buy a starter box of the next edition even though I have no plans to start a new army.

My Armies: 8000 , 3000 , 8000 High Elf, 10000+ and goblin, 5000 Dwarf

Might I recommend picking up the blood bowl game on steam for cheap($8 if you catch it). It really helped us learn the basic rules and helped us figure out which teams we wanted to run.

Already have the Blood Bowl game you're speaking of for Xbox 360. Two of the guys in the group already have the boxed game so it's just a matter of getting a few others on board. Thanks for the suggestion!

My resolutions for 2012 are
1. Finish the 50 pts Nemo2 tier 4 list
2. Paint figs needed to complete 50 pts tier 4 list for Rasheth
3. Finish my Space Hulk set
4. Paint 300 points of my Confrontation Drunes

This is going to be a fairly tough set to keep as I finished 56 figs this past year and the above list has at least as many figs included. Just waiting for painter ADD to strike.

Looking at my unpainted crews I have for Malifaux (3 out of 6!) I was just going to go for the standard paint more than i buy, but I saw someone put "try not to play with unpainted models" and I really liked that idea (esp as i can still play with the other 3) so mine will be:

1) Not to field unpainted models in Malifaux

2) Buy Ramos and attempt to create weather effects on the constructs

3) Place higher than 7th in the Malifaux tourney held in Bristol - Cut n Thrust.

4) Attend the Malifaux GT (assuming its run again!)

Tacticool always trumps tactics

By the close of 2012:
-To have at least one fully painted army for every game system I play
-To finish my cityfight & Desert terrain
-To teach my friend to play 40k

I'm pretty sure i'm going to fail at least one of the 3

#1 - Finish painting my friend's SoB - he's paying me to do it and has been really understanding of my eccentric whims so time to do the girls up to scratch for him.
#2 - Finish painting his WW2 Germans too. I no longer have the excuse of being out of black ink for the basing.
#3 - Get my Lizardmen up to 3,000 points minimum.
#4 - Get the Chaos Space Marines up to 2,000 points minimum.
#5 - Get the Imperial Paladins up to 2,000 points minimum.
#6 - Get the Tyranids up to 3,000 points minimum.
#7 - Finally finish painting that Skaven Warlock from the IoB box!
#8 - Get at least 1 squad of FW Death Guard done.
#9 - At least assemble more of my Eldar than I have done currently. Their masses of boxes make me feel guilty.

2) Paint 2500 points of IG Cadians before play (as above)
3) Paint my Tomb Kings and expand army a bit
4) Paint Bretonnians or sell
5) Assemble, paint, and play Dreadfleet
6) Paint small Cygnar force and play more often

Hey All

Firstly I made my 1750 list, complete down to final extreme highlighting, which I committed to for 2011

See this thread

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/336606.page

For 2012 im going to complete 40 bolter marines, sufficient for 5 distinct marine tactical squads (5x7) and 1 full devestator squad (further 5), which will form the core of my marine company.

The SGTs and various HQ are complete, because they are more fun, but lavishing love on bolter tacs is a little harder.

Second resolution is to play a tournament with one army that is close to my view of what a genuine tactical company would look like. I have played with no elites, this commitment is as as close to organic to a marine company as possible.

Finally I want to play at tournament level with least used elements of the marine codex.

So to maintain my 2011 record I now have 3 commitments;

1. 40 bolter marines
2. Tournament using elements organic to a marine tactical company
3. Tournament using least used elements of marine codex

Happy 2012 everyone and best to all your hobby endeavours.

Mine are fairly simple:
1. Get out of this horrible hobby funk I've been in recently (you know the kind, when you feel uninspired and every time you touch a model you end up feeling really let down and unhappy with your handywork)
2. Start attending a FGS regularly to play games
3. Continue painting my things at a leisurely pace

Strangely enough, my hobby resolution for 2012 is to well..stop.

I don't mean that I won't ever paint a miniature again but I've realized over the past year that my painting has been eating into time I'd rather be doing other things.

...now I just have to find someone who will paint all this junk!

This is a great idea!

I'm going to be ambitious. I want to have all 3 of my armies finished. That is:

1. Final assembly and painting of Warhammer: WoC Monster Mash army (2/3 fully assembled and painted already)
2. Assemble and paint Hordes: Trollbloods army (1/8? assembled already)
3. Purchase, assemble and paint 40k: Flesh Tearers army (purchasing begun and planned out for the remainder of the year)

I can do this! I used a wash method that made painting easy, if somewhat long/tedious, on the Monster Mash army. I plan to switch to a base colors and dip method for the Trollbloods. I may use a more traditional method for the Flesh Tearers- still deciding.

Will add this to my user profile article at some point, too!

Finish up my Red Corsairs Wolves, along with finishing my two Valkyries (which are the ONLY remaining elements of my IG that need painting) would be a good start. Finally painting my whole Battle Company'd be cool too. And doing more terrain and rounding out my Nids would make this hobby complete for me!
