Thought Salamanders were coloured due to a mutation of the gene-seed and Tallarns are still Caucasian, but their skin has changed colour to suit the environment. (Caucasian is more than skin colour. It is about genetic make up as well as "muscle depth" on the face etc)

Does it matter? I find this line of reasoning very offensive. It's the Imperium of MANKIND, not the Imperium of Caucasian Humans. I don't really care what fluff says, but AFAIC, the Imperium is composed of descendants of every racial stock on Old Earth.

They could have put more diversity to be pc, but i can understand it being caucasian only. Especially if something wiped out everyone else.
