When you tested out the Black Khorne daemon, i didn't think it looked that good. But looking at the models together, in a huge group, they look brilliant.

Yeah I think the idividual models probably arent amazing but the look of the army as a whole is pretty cool so far.

Lately Iv been jumping between projects and for the moment I am waiting for some Slaanesh stuff to show up in the mail.

So while Im waiting Iv done a little more work on the Khorne Chariots, now all the platforms and the wheels just need tidying up but they are otherwise complete.

Just to show I am indeed still wokring on this project heres a progress shot.


I have 3 more crushers undercoated, the last 20 bloodletters are halfway constructed and Iv started on the 4 Heralds to ride the chariots.

Sadly most of my hobby time lately has been taken up by removing mold lines. As most people know if you dont remove them they will come back to haunt you later lol.

I am aware of mould lines coming back to bite you in the butt. I spent 2 hours cleaning up the lines from my first 10 bloodletters.

Dont forget to GS into the herals crotch. WHere the let meets the body there is a gap. Something i also noticed and sorted when i was doing my bloodletters.

Yeah Iv been using liquid gs to patch up the gaps around their waists. Noone wants holes in their hips now do they

Since I havent posted a step by step guide on how I paint these guys yet, I'll go over how I paint the Bloodcrushers.


So step 1: Black spray undercoat, always a good idea to check the model after its sprayed to see if any parts were missed. For the crushers in around the front legs tends to not get covered properly so I touched these up after they had the first coat of spray.




Step 2: Time to get out the big brush and drybrush all over the crusher and the rider with adeptus battlegrey. This helps pick out edges and gives the model some definition. Just leaving the model flat black doesnt allow you to see any of the detail.




Step 3: This step is for the rider. The horns on the bloodletters head and its claws are painted astronomican grey.





Ill have the next few steps up in the next few days.

Step 4: Drybrush boltgun metal onto the metal bits of the crusher.






Step 5: The crusher and rider get a black wash. Got my new paints today so this is the new Nuln Oil shade.




You probably wont see much difference in these couple of steps. The Nuln Oil did make the whole model a bit smoky looking, but the old black wash did pretty much the same thing.

Really quick and easy technique.

It takes a little longer when you paint them red

Real nice looking army you've got going here.

I really like the black colour scheme for the bloodletters.

Did you just using a polymorth substance to create the molds for the wheels/chariot boards?

Yeah the chariot wheel mold is made with instant mold, tis pretty handy stuff.
