Well, clearly you don't want to talk about it so I'll just say I agree entirely that Legion is awesome ^.^.

Just played it a few hours ago when it finished downloading. I liked it - the combat seems more dynamic, and it's definitely harder. Wrex, Mordin and Garrus all have their trademark charm, as usual.

My only slight gripe is that it does require you to have played the DLC to have any clue on how Shepard got to the introduction. For those who are unaware, the intro tells the continuation of the story of Arrival, the last (IIRC) DLC released for Mass Effect 2. I'll admit that the demo did remind me to go and buy it so I could have some idea of what's going on.

Bah who needs to play through storyline. Just read it up on a wiki

I havent bought a single ME DLC (sans collectors edition...ugh I hate when they bundle in game content) and if I get this game, I still wont!

The Co-op is just amazing. I'm tempted to start on that instead of the single player campaign when I get my box...

Running about with my krogan falcon punching Cerberus for great justice is beyond words!

Not tried co-op yet, unless I'm doing it wrong, its not a feature of the Xbox demo.

Will have a go once I get the full title, just hope that the 'playing multiplayer and doing facebook games to get a better ending' doesn't equate to 'do it, or you've no chance of a good ending'

Aye meant Multiplayer, mind got boggled by a post above.

The facebook thing is already there, it says it grants unlocks, and other things? but I'm not sure how it works tbh. How that links from facebook to my xbox game seems unclear.

They have also mentioned some kind of galatic War tally thing, which will be based through multiplayer, and I'm pretty sure some kind of mobile app, so folks can contribute on the move.

My concern, one shared by at least two xbox mags, is the idea that without ploughing hours into multiplayer, or using these app games, you won't be able to get the best result.

To me that would be pretty annoying, as I happily played through both one and two on my lonesome, and although like the idea of some multiplayer action, do not want it to become mandetory for my single player game.

They've already stated many times that the mp is not necessary to get the best ending.

Can you quote that N'ferno, or link to a site, as Bioware from what I have read myself have been pretty vague on how important the map actually will be.

At the very least depending on which of their representatives you speak to at a given time, its potentially not important to very important.

Hence a concern, but not something I am actually worried about yet, there isn't enough info to judge yet.

What if I am not good at / do not like multiplayer? Will my readiness rating go down?
ME3 is a story about a war against overwhelming force where the most you can hope for us survival. The more you do to fight that war, the more you can change that story into a more optimistic one. You can reach the highest levels of success in the single player experience alone, but Galaxy at War gives you alternative ways to get there. It’s about choice, and allowing players to find their own ways to stay immersed in the Mass Effect universe.

Ah good, glad thats clarified, only problem with mags, always one step behind the game. Cheers.

Now is this the public Galaxy at war Ala "Tom Clany's Endwar" or is this your own private war, if it's public i'll be slightly more annoyed as it'll be harder to fail

Played the demo last night. it was cool, but I think my only issue really was when you hit the objective button, it just shows you a general direction.. in ME2 the arrow would guide you to stairs you need to take .. I got turned around a bit looking for where I needed to go in the krogan mission.

Graphics look better, but animation was still jerky especially in cutscenes. and I guess after playing LA Noire I'm spoiled and I think games should be doing better with facial expressions these days...

Aye, I was surprised how much I liked LA Noire, picked it up for a fiver just before christmas. Haven't compleated it yet due to distractions, but it seems worth the purchase after a few missions in.

Also realised why I couldn't play multiplayer, it was turned off on the xbox until Friday, haven't put the Demo on since playing it through three times last week. Will have a go on that tomorrow and see what its like.

I tried the multiplayer, but there was no one else joining my games. It was a lot like Space marine exterminatcusasaur.. you teleport in and have waves of bad guys to kill. I never made it past wave 1 by myself :( Will be funner when the game is launched and you'll have more players around

I had the same problem for a good day or so, i finally got into games with other players and its actually such a blast. My suggestion is to just do quick games for now (if you luck out you will get into a game with 2 other people)

You basically get the introductory mission (knowledge of which is already out there, and you'd know of anyway if/when you buy it) and a random mission partway through the game. While yes, there is a little bit of spoiler to it, bear in mind that there is almost zero context to the second mission. They give you a little bit of background, and you can kind of figure out more of it on your own by about a minute into it, but other than that it's pretty spoiler-free.

Aye, plus as I noted, the second mission is the same one Games Mags (British ones at least) have been using shots from on every Mass Effect 3 feature since about half way through last year. Also the same one that Bioware showed off Kinect functionality via a vid a month or so ago.

I actually had more of a spoiler in the intial opening mission, but then a Mag had already spoiled the bit about the kid anyways.

The second mission certainly gave a more in depth feel of how combat is than the intro, it also lets you see the modified Skill system.

I finally got my connection back up and running after moving, and the first thing I did was DL the Demo. I’m going to be avoiding the single player, like many others are, simply because everyone else has been saying you’ll just have to play through it again anyway. Alright, so on to the multiplayer.

I love it, give me more.

Everything feels like it has more energy, more impact. Bullets stagger troops. Put a sniper round through a Guardian’s shield-visor and watch him drop like a sack of rocks. The movement is weighty but responsive. I didn’t have any weird bugs or glitches… cover works great.

The two Demo maps really surprised me, particularly in just how Vertical they are. There’s lots of walkways, ladders, and drops, allowing you to stay mobile, to flank enemies or box them in… it’s all done really well. It also means they can flank you… but that just keeps things exciting.

I need to find my headset so I can be more helpful… at the moment I feel like a really badass servitor who is running around trying to help people who need it.

Also, I love the shotgun. I always have a softspot for that heavy BOOM! of firepower, but I never felt it in a Mass Effect game until this one. When you lay into someone with it you really know it, better… THEY really know it. It’s a rewarding experience.

If anyone wants a drone to boss around, I’m your man!

Or rather… Turian, once I unlock em’.

Also, thoughts on the ‘Booster Pack’ style of getting upgrades in MP? I found the choice a little odd. I’m not hating on it yet, but it does make me scratch my head a little. I prefer when things are unlocked by performance, rather than randomly dumping cash into a slot machine.

Anyway, if the servers are back up today, I’ll be on this evening, EST… XBL Handle is The Steamdriven gimme a buzz!

Since there were some general Bioware comments: While I was agree that Bioware does some of the best storytelling in the industry, the actually quality of the product is, and kind of always has been, sort of halfass. Form Neverwinter Nights to Dragon Age to Mass Effect, there has alwasy been lots of broken cutscenes, broken equipment, and game-breaking bugs. What immediate come to mind was a bug in NWN where you could lose all your equipment, or the companion quest for Merrill in Dragon Age 2 that fired the conclusion of the quest in the middle of it, to just plain falling through the floor in Mass Effect - that's the way it's always been and always will be, most likely.

So far as the demo itself, I thought it was pretty awesome. It's not too spoilery, and I'm really liking the co-op. Fast paced, good times.

Does anyone know if there will (or will not) be dedicated servers for ME3?

I actually took a week off from work specifically to play Mass Effect 3.

Anyone seen the live action ad that will be making the rounds on TV leading up to its release.

Can't link it atm sadly, as 99% of games sites are blocked here at work, (its on Computer and Videogames news site, where I saw it anyways) but saw it this morning before I came in. Very nice, in the same vein as Halo ones, and always nice to see games getting such mainstream attention.

Hopefully I can track it on youtube tonight via the 360 and watch it on my Tv.

Two games worth of interaction means I have to play through to the conclusion. It might be a major diaspointment, it might suck really badly, but dammit, I need to see it. Hopefully it'll be awesome.
