Thanks for posting this! Then those of us who will probably never have a titan can live vicariously through you Great work so far!

A vehicle would be cool, maybe I will sacrifice an un-built Rhino? Figure this out is important just to start building the feet. If I go baseless than I can start building the feet right now.

I would say base it, and go with the building opposed to the vehicle. I think there are plenty of walkers crushing vehicles out there. I think it would be cool if you modeled it like it was crushing a (mostly) intact building, and add dust clouds in a similar fashion to the explosions in this thread:

You would just paint it with greys and tans instead of like fiery doom

Keep up the good work!

Hmm, good idea. I like the idea of doing a building, I don't know how I can make such a small building though, if I use Imperial rubble, will that look to odd in a game on a grass field?

Maybe I should post this in rules, not sure if you can have something large enough to offer cover on your base. Essentially you create a piece of terrain that is moving. I guess the same would be true with a vehicle under the foot as well. But I assume doing what would be an appropriate size structure would just be too big.

I guess a third option I just considered would be to have the foot in the air, counter balance with the base. Seems a bit ambitious, might not look that cool either.

Working with resin is great because it's so forgiving. You should never have to return anything to Forge World due to warpage. This piece I left under the hot tap for 5 minutes, rubber banded it around the fitting piece and it looks perfect.

This^^ is why I build my own......

Although, if that's the worse that came in yours, than you got lucky.....

Also had these six barrels which needed some straightening.

I think there was another minor piece too. I agree, that I can be considered somewhat lucky. My Warhound came with a lot of casting issues. But I would also attribute that to the age of the Warhound molds and masters. I would love to tour Forge World and see how their assembly line works.

Mis-cast and bad resin is one thing, but I feel any deformed parts are generally recoverable. I would love to order a Thunderhawk, but my fear is that due to the age, that model might have a lot of issues as well.

There are a lot of issues with the Thawk. the molds need to be redone from the masters. Which as far as I know it are intact and storage....

What really needs done for that old bird is a redesign overall, IMHO......

Yeah, I like the longer sleeker style that Black is working with (CG model) I would assume the masters wear out as well too. Or at least I thought that was the case in my limited study of casting. Of course I suppose it depends on the quality of materials that are being used, I assume FW uses top notch supplies.

Also, anyone got a line on getting rubber tubing like the stuff that comes with the Warhounds? I don't like these resin cables that you have to heat and mold into position. I like the rubber ones that came with the Warhound, they hold paint well enough. I believe this is the only option if you desire to have weapon swaps on a titan.

No, currently summering in South Carolina. I won't be back to school (and my models) until the end of September. I will be finishing it this year. I vow to get this out of the way! My summer of building large projects (teaching myself to weld and making a new coffee table), should get me ready for the small stuff.
