5 fire dragons sitting outside of their transport charged by a full squad of Blood Angel Assault Marines

The fire dragon Exarch managed one wound, the rest of the squad did nada. When the BA squad attacked they caused 11 wounds (not a single power weapon wound!), the fire dragons made each save.

The BA squad then proceeded to fail its morale check and retreat off the board.

I once saw a guy take two Big Meks, both with Shokk guns, and both roll snake eyes on their first turn, obliterating like a quarter of his army in a single swoop.

In a recent tournament, on the last game of the day, 2250 points objectives: King of the hill style game. There was a new scenario introduced, after deployment, on a roll of a 6, a unit gets the scouts special rule. (not allowing it to go into reserve to outflank but just the full movement it can get) On a roll of a 1 the unit goes into reserve. You have to roll for every unit on the table.

So here's the situation; I'm playing my friend(Ratwolf) who plays SW, and he has deployed 3 long fangs squads in different buildings. I've deployed EVERYTHING bar my outflanking vendetta/veteran combo. He rolls....1st long fang squad: 1, damn. Next long fang sqaud:1, Oh my. Last long fang squad:1, disbelief was unleashed and tension in the air. This moment was by far the most silliest thing to happen infront of me.

I had my 20 man infantry squad and veteran squad/chimera put back in, and a banewolf get scouts...but it was at the back of my army, trying to not be "shot at" on 1st turn.
What made it worse was that i had the Ootf too, damn near all his troops choices didnt come in until turn 4/5. Still pulled out a draw by half an inch though!

my 10 man IF tac squad took out my buddies' 6 BT termies in an assault. How does that happen?

Not so much a board game, but I was playing an internet game of Blood Bowl. My human lineman was up against the other guys treeman. Right before he made a 3-dice block he typed 'what type of coffin would you like?' He then rolled 3 skulls. Re-roll - 3 skulls again. He falls over, fails the armour roll. The injury dice are rolled - dead. Uses his apothecary - dead. There is a pause for a moment while the body sinks into the earth. I then wrote 'A large sized one', and the other guy D/C'ed from the game

To be honest, I can't believe it was anything other than wonky game mechanics at play.

I had a wolf lord and his wolfguard charge a line across the table destroying nearly the whole of my brothers ork army, including a warboss and meganob bodyguard, 20 ork boys, 3 killakans, an ork dread and a battle wagon coming out the other side with the wolflord untouched and 2 wolf guard out of 4 still alive.

I have also had my kabalite warriors in cover and an 'ard boys nob attempt to charge them but rolling a 1 for difficult terrain (not getting them in) which allowed my kabalites to stand and kill the full squad with splintery death and ultimately win me the game by taking out a scoring dread with the sybarites blast pistol.

with my old eldar force I always killed my friends carnifex with shurikan pistol fire from my rangers or seer council

An edition or so ago, I was playing my guard against tau, roundabout 2000 points. Got first turn. My first battlecannon shot 'sploded half of one in-cover kroot squad, and the survivors fled the table. Second battle cannon shot scattered onto the ethereal, blew a hole in his gun line and every single tau model affected by the ethereals' death ran off the board. Heavy weapons and ratlings picked off the handfull of stragglers, platoon lascannons and got lucky and dropped or immobilized his tanks. First turn wipe. It took longer to set up the game then to finish the first turn. The follow-up rematch was a well-balanced shootout to almost mutual destruction, proving the first game was just a quirk of the odds. Though the second game did have a squad seargent and plasma gunner beat a full squad of battlesuits with a lucky charge. Killed two and chased them off the table.

To be fair, he probably shouldn't have been running that Ethereal in the first place.

One of my first games, was playing my Tau against Orks. My opponent had a group of 'Kans, and after a group of suits tried to blast them with PR and meltas to no avail, the lone gun drone attached to the squad managed a glancing hit which ended up wrecking a 'Kan. Went on to win the match by a decent margin.

i dont bother taking FNP on anything anymore, i have NEVER passed a FNP save lol

In one game I watched a unit of Orc Boar Riders squabble straight through from turn 2 to turn 5. They pretty much missed the whole game.

this weekend i saw a necron lord with a warscythe charge a squad of fire warriors and do zero wounds he hit three times and rolled 3 1's. they then beat him to death with their rifles (he didn't get back up)

There was one game (three-way game) where my bret knights charge my freinds high elf spearman, and proceed to over run into every one of his other units, causing flees and combats, wiped out his entire army except for his fleeing heros, with one 8 man unit of knights and a naked paladin.

In another game, I need to make 5 6+ ward saves with the same unit of knights,
then the next turn, I need to make 4 2+ saves
damn! now my ward saves

I lost combat, and about 400 points of models.

I keep killing my friend's Death Company Dreadnaught on the first salvo from my deffkoptas. Only one shot ever hits, it always ends up penetrating, and he always ends up rolling a 6 and blowing the thing up.

well, two things, A unit of 4 CC scouts charge a full wound nurgle daemon price, I attak, 10 attacks, 6 hit, 3 6s and wound him 3 times, he rolls all ones, his hopes are still high as he still is alive, we strikes with his 4 attacks, 2 hit, two 1s and fail to wound, he fails two fearless saves and dies, that unit consolidates 3 inches and takes their objective to win me the game!

the second thing was I was playing GK with my marines, a unit of 7 terminstors and Librarian DS on target only to get warp rifted, 8 toughness saves, 7 fail, one of which is my libby, only for the last on to be shot in the face with a storm bolter :( that set the tone for that game...

I had a squad of wyches get charged by a mob of slugga boys once. just by coincidence, right after theyd been wiped out i got a bloody nose. they lost the combat so bad, that I started to bleed.

Last week in an Apoc game I saw 3 Bug Warriors charge 5 Eldar rangers. The Rangers won combat 2 turns in a row.

In 3rd Ed I had a BA sniper shoot his Missle Launcher my friends Monolith on turn one. 6 to hit, 6 for Pen, 6 for Damage. Monolith and 3 units waiting to deploy all lost on turn one. That one shot came close to phasing him out.

Last night, in fact, in a Warmachine game.

My Blaize, filled to the gills with soul token focus (20 focus) charges his caster...and FAILS to kill him. :|

Actually just had one recently. I was playing a game against Necrons, and was plagued with night fighting the whole game because of Imotekh. Well, turn two, I went "Ah, what the heck. I'll try to shoot his Doomsday Ark" and fired my Lootas at its rear armor, not expecting much. I had one Loota actually in range because of the Night Fighting, and managed two shots. I rolled the dice, one hit. Rolled to pen, one six. Rolled the damage, another six.

It was total luck, but it saved my entire game, since the Ark had already spent a turn blasting Boyz out of the water.

Recent one. My dropship came in just behind my opponent's main force. He shot it down, it fell on a tank of his, which exploded. Another tank was caught in the blast... A daisy-chain of explosions later his entire army was gone. Good times.

Back in 3rd I think, my brother's BA captain on bike with dual Lightnight-Claws and bionics managed to carve his way through my army alone after losing the rest of his bike squad, passing his bionic resurrection three (!) times, finally tallying up as kills: Avatar, a howling banshee squad, some assorted guardians and whatnot...

Everything I threw at him just bounced off or he just stood up again after..
