I didnt play dead money (the fact you lost all your gear made it look boring to me, the other DLCs were very good though) but I know that you can take the gold out, but it requires a stealth boy and perfect timing.

Do you enjoy playing mods? There are a few good ones that make it more realistic, harder and etc.

Downloadable content. Basically, you pay $10 and it raises the level cap by 5, adds in new missions and stuff. There are 4 for New Vegas, Honest Hearts, The Lonesome Road, Dead Money, and Old World Blues.

Except for maybe dead money, all the DLCs are well worth it IMO. Lonesome road defiantly adds a very "personal" ending to the series.

I do think that if you're going to get The Lonesome Road, you need to play through all the other DLCs. There is a lot of buildup in all of them and The Lonesome Road doesn't make as much sense without it.

Just got to a new town after a long walk where I'm supposed to stop someone from killing the cattle(ish) things. So far going to the way-point hasn't resulted in anything but I'm sure I'll figure it out... or not. Anyway, I'm sure their'll be more to do as time goes on.

That town would be novac. You should find the culprit at midnight.

Speak to the hotel manager. She should give you a key.

Funny thing is I got the quest at about 11:45... so I milled around the cattle, wandered off to the west... nothing, no racket, no gun shot... I'll head to the hotel.

Make sure to pick up Boone in Novac, he's the best follower IMO.

I'm reasonably certain that the cattle killing thing you are referring to is the Nightkin with the minigun near the Brahmin ranch.

Yep... Brahmin ranch... that's the one. I'm just terrible with names. Minigun does not sound like fun to tangle with. Ouch.

Nah, he's really easy to kill. Just sneak up behind him and pop him in the head a couple of times with a big gun. I think I used the Cowboy Repeater.

Help! It won't let me mod my weapons!

Have a laser pistol and a couple of laser pistol mods but it won't let me add them.

Not sure why it isn't for you but i had the trouble when i first got it but updating it fixed that for me.

There are apparently a number of things that I'm supposed to be able to do on my Pip Boy that I can't do. I can't modify weapons and I cant drop markers on the world map. Anyone have any ideas?

Hahaha. Your pc should be able to run most mods but check a mod called EVE, I dont have the link at the moment but it is just brilliant.

Also, pick up Boone as soon as possible (unless you're goin' Caesar's Lamoes ). Probably best companion in the game stock, IMO, and he is with NO competition when he has Anti-materiel rifle.

Where do I find Boone?... Right now I've got the Apocalypse gal (I think... still trying to keep the factions straight). she's from a bunker in a little patch of desert in the middle of everything.

Boone is one of the snipers in Novac.

Boone is better for combat reasons I reckon

I like her. She's got a souped-up power glove and can raise all kinds of hell with it.

I like her personality. She has a great sense of humor ^^
She is a bit irritating in combat though, as she's melee orientated (I tend towards ranged myself), but I think she's a good shot with a laser pistol, so that's alright I guess.
I was so pissed off when she got killed fighting Lanius. I reloaded my save after that, told her to stay behind and blew him to hell myself

Dont listen to what they say about boone he isnt even that great. What you should do is get arcaade gannon in freeside, Then get rex (cyborg dog) in freeside or ED-E (Enclave eyebot) in Prim. Find tht burning town kill Vex (the guy with the wolf hat) Take his money and ripper chainsaw and run. Get to safe area save.

That should be your basic plan. Now then the way this was posted I have no clue where taht is other than the NCR correctional facility. Stay away you will find scorpion gang, they are strong at the early level of game. Go to boulder city, deal with the Geat Khans, You get Vennys lighter and then say go to new vegas. Look on your map at the giant city looking thing in the middle of the map. Go to that. You will start in freeside, you can kill the guards and enter (bad idea) pay the robot guards (Fine) or use your high science skill to talk to the gate keeper robot and say some number thing and he will let you pass. Victor will say howdy yadda yadda yadda and go the lucky 38. Talk to Mr. house and he will give you a room in the lucky 38 to live in. When you leave if you killed the Caesers legion dude then a NCR guy will say Daniel Crocker (NCR guy again) wants to see you. If you didnt kill Vex (legion guy) he will say Caeser wants to meet you. Go to the lucky 38 confront benny kill him flat out and convince him to go to his room. (or talk to the front desk guy and he will help you out) Get to Vinnys room and tell him to lose the guards. He will try to give you a house at his place DO NOT ACCEPT!!!! He just runs away with the platinum chip and just sends the guards in. kill him in Vats and then loot his body. Take the gun Maria it is great pistol. Go to Mr. House and then he shows some cool stuff and tells you what to do next.

Also Arcade Gannon gives you +20 health to all stimpacks and healing items you use WORTH IT.

This is the basic guide to get set in New Vegas. I suggest Arcade Gannon because he will give you power armour (much better in this game) and possible to get the tesla armour from him as well. Tell him to stay in freeside at the fight when you do his quest and he will give you tesla. THEN get boone and give him NCR armour if you side with the NCR.
Or instead of boone just go for Venna (I think her name is) She is like brotherhood of steel lady. She is great. Use her until you deal with the brother hood. The only way to side with the brotherhood is to get a joint effort with the NCR. If your do Mr.House he will say they rival the tech he has and is worried about resistance to his force.

PPS please exault this post I have put alot of effort into this one post. Fallout is one of my favorite games. (My iron warriors have a squad of Enclave guys with plasma weapons and heavy bolters I love them so much)
