Me and my group all started together, so nobody has the same thing (or close to it). Granted, it was never a spoken rule but everybody want's to be individual if your group is coordinating. We have some Space Marine overlaps, but never a true overlap.

-Eldar/Imperial Guard/Black Templars (Yay Me!)
-Vanilla Marines/Tyranids
-Orks/Dark Angels
-Chaos/Chaos Daemons
-Tau/Necrons (Soon!)
-Orks (Scaven Conversion!)

So I guess after writing down what each player has, than we do have more than just SM overlap. The Orks are overlapped too, and we are missing a few things. Overall though we cover a very wide range of the game.

Think Im the only tyranid player at the store i go to.

In my local store, there are several Guard players...though I am the most active...

I play SOB so i am more unique than all of you.

also only ork player at my flgs i ahve heard of this mythical otehr person who plays orks i ahve seen him once but he had SW at the time, course he has been playing since RTT days and has 40k plus points of orks, and C:SM, and then wolves and then........it goes on. and its all painted.....i was sad.

Another mythical sisters player havent met them yet.

im 1 of 4 (maybe 5) IG players.

Im different in my construction methods and heavy conversions and the fact im mechanized compared to the others.

I am the only vanilla marine that enjoys devastators. We've got a BA player with devs but i pack in mine with a transport. Other marine players keep ranting about devs and their expensive guns. HA! I killed an assault squad before they even got near assault range.

I'm the only Crimson Fists, Angry Marines, and Thunderwolf player, so far. We've been assigning Chaos Legions to avoid overlap. I'll soon be the only Iron Warriors player (I hope) in the area.

In the store I game at regularly, there seems to be a good smattering of armies represented, though I know that mine are among the more "unique"

I know that I'm the only "Parking Lot Guard" player, the only Vanilla all Deepstrike marine player (and conversely, the only armored column marine player), and the only pure Nurgle player... I could also count nids, but I am rather disinclined to play or even work on them right now.

As to the "nerdiness" aspect, on a typical Friday night, if you look at the 40k room, and compare it to the magic room, you'd think all of the 40k-ers were the most sane and well adjusted folks on earth... seriously, the Magic crowd where I game is THAT bad.

As far as I know, I'm the only Black Templar player in my area, which I don't mind actually.

I am the only player in my very diverse group of regular gamers to play vanilla marines.

I'm also the only Chaos player who runs what they like and thinks is cool instead of a netlist...
Right now I'm wroking on a 'sorcerous technology' cult of noise marines, oblits, havocs & daemon engines all themed around wielding siesmic/sonic weaponry, meltas & flamers! (think about all the cool lasers & earthquake-causing tech in 'The Core')

Good, I hope you beat some sense into the locals at your store. I'm the only CSM player in my area that doesn't use khorne bezerkers and other nonsense, and I beat them senseless.

Sadly won't happen with my epic dice rolling abilities...

I once failed Cypher's 4+ invuln on 3D6 twice in a row.

I am the only player in my gaming groups that uses unpopular/unheardof units and styles because of that reason. I end up making those units shine and then these gitz start using them! (Such a trend-setter )

I'm the only 40k player in my local area that I know of. The guy who runs the FLGS hasn't sold any 40k to anyone other than me in about a year, and if you go in for "40k Saturday" you see the tables filled with people playing Magic.

I'm the only Warp Hawks CSM warband player. I'm the only Daw'Nenvaa Tau Sept player. I'm the only Dras'Scur Eldar Craftworld player.

Although if I wasn't, then i'd be glad that somebody enjoys my custom warband/sept/craftworld enough to use it.

I was the only LATD player. But now I'm working on my blood angels again.

I'm not one of a kind, but I am one of the very few people who plays Orks and would never field a Space Marine army (Paladins being the only exception to that rule).

To keep this post contributory, I add this. There's a guy in my FLGS who plays Codex Marines, but gives them a crimson and gold colorscheme, and plays them as Hylian Knights. XD It's honestly pretty win.

In fact, some on dakka was just talking about this.

I do believe that was me, though if there was someone else, I'd love to see how their's came out. I've got a thread about it further down, if you wanna take a read.

Unfortunately seeing as I am near a GW Bunker there isn't anything you can bring to the table that someone doesn't have.

That being said, my SoB army is somewhat unusual, I think the only other person who has one is a member of the staff.

Surprisingly the above. I play Eldar, SoB and Daemons yet the only other SoB I've ever met is also a staff member at one of the GWs around; they kind of get shuffled about it seems.

I'm the only player that... uses sentinels... for almost every thing.

I wouldn't say I'm one of a kind but I do play Eldar with no Fire Dragons or Dire Avengers so yeah, that makes me a bit different then most of the Eldar players I've seen posting on Dakka and other sites.

Edit: come to think of it, I'm the only Eldar player in my area too. Most people think they are too weak so they don't want anything to do with them.

I'm the only one at my FLGS that plays with the Blood Ravens scheme.

The only person who still plays Tau.

There are other Tau players but they simply don't use them as their signature anymore. E.g. either already sold or still collecting dust.

I'm the only vanilla SM player, everyone else plays eldar, BA, DE, Necrons, or GK. Which in friendly games I almost always get beat because I like to play wacky lists or themes, but when its tourny time, watch out.
