For me my Armoured Sentinels, they may not make there huge points cost back (I do filed alot of them ), they may not kill much but they are handy for CQC and taking the flack off my squishy foot vets. Plus I'm trying to build a battlemech IG forc so the Sentinel is the only way to go

My rifleman dread, Even with one arm left he was able to destroy two war walkers and leave one with only 1 weapon left.
And that thing refuses to die.
The ONLY time he got injured was 24 scatter laser shots, all with GUIDE on them, all he did was loose and arm.

Eldar: War Walkers. These guys never let me down, regardless of the situation. A personal favorite for me outside of WW would be the Falcon, I always seem to do really good with them.

Imperial Guard: Vendetta. My Vendetta has a crazy amount high kill to death ratio. I think it has died once? Every game it kills 2-3 units since with HB it is good against almost anything.

Black Templars: Really, this comes down to 2 units. I love rolling my Marshall and EC as best buddies, going around krumpin anything that gets in their way. Emperor's Champion pulls the IC into combat, and the Marshall (who I always keep right next to him) ensures they go down. It hasn't disappointed me yet!

Your single Vendetta manages to make it to the end of the game without being destroyed? Either you've rarely had it, dice are rigged, your opponents have poor target priority, or you sir are just plain lucky. Mine have about a 50% survival ratio.

Amazingly yes, it has made it to the end of the game MOST of the time. What you have to understand is I have historically terrible reserve rolls, and outside of the Vendetta I usually play Horde Guard. People end up being so preoccupied with stopping my waves of Guardsmen that the Vendetta outflanking Turn 3/4 is killer. Typically I can kill the 1 tank with it when it shows up that would have posed issues to it, and than keep away from melee threads (like a Warboss) because it is so fast. I play Eldar, 12/12/10 is my Bread and Butter (har har).

For me it's my ASM in lasplas razorbacks. Hur Hur very typical I know, but I usually roll well with them and there are enough of them that I can usually do a bunch of shenanigans.

If I had to put my life of the line on a single guy though, it'd be my naked libby. His shield lets my razors weather the storm and I usually do roll well with HIS hood. Mephy's hood I usually do meh with.

For my Eldar its gotta be my Farseer. He's very good at killing things he shouldn't be able to kill (including a Landraider with his singing spear, and the old night bringer, also with the spear) as well as almost never failing his psychic powers.

I also love my Harlequins. They've only been killed before they could cause any damage once, and have chewed through everything from Khorne berzerkers, to Kroot and plenty of things in between. The only time I haven't had any luck with them was against Grey Knights, but it was my first time facing them and wasn't aware of their quicksilver power.

I've only coupled the two once, but it was a deadly combination. Fortune turns a 5+ invuln from "Please don't hit me back" to "I might actually survive return combat", and re-rolling all those rending attacks can really wreck an assault terminator's day.

For chaos I gotta say I never leave home without my rhinos. Regardless of what's inside them, they've always been able to transport their cargo (relatively) safely to near where I need them to be. I've found that having the threat of a Landraider full of Kharn and friends is also almost vital to keeping the Rhinos alive through the alpha strike. In my experience everyone has been so focused on blowing up the land raider before the berzerkers can get near them that they totally ignore the rhinos, allowing the rest of my force to make it to the enemy lines.

I also love to bring a Defiler in every list I can. It usually doesn't survive the whole game, but the threat of it alone is usually enough to draw lots of fire. On the occasion that it doesn't get blasted off the table rich away, it tends to wreck whatever it decides needs to die.

It's a tough choice, but it's gotta be my 2 Leman Russes with Lascannons.

Both have to put up with a hilariously inept general. Both have to put up with being put in the worst possible positions EVERY. SINGLE. GAME. And both never let me down.

My leman russes constantly get flanked, constantly get everything the enemy has thrown at them, and usually don't care at all. I think I've only lost them both 2 times so far, and even then they put some serious hurt on the enemy. I just finished painting the first one and the second one is going to be painted up as soon as I can get some track guards for him. I've seen dreadnaughts deepstrike on them turn 2, fire a multimelta into their side for 4 turns in a row, and survive EVERY SHOT. Best part was, they kept getting shaked, and I kept forgetting to pop smoke on them. So they just sat there eating multi melta shots every turn like it was no big deal I don't know how, I don't know why, but everytime they pull something like that that just makes them even more awesome in my eyes.

Now if my commissars would just follow their example...

Grots.

Seriously. They have always performed well for me, and in so many ways. The Herders can poison down MC's or cut down the attacks of regular foes. The grots are accurate, if crappy shooting (for Ork shooting) that can actually do some harm once in a while, and you can field so fething MANY of them at relatively low points that it can be extremely demoralizing to the enemy

They can also multi-claim objectives with ease, with the huge mob sizes, though actually holding on to them is a bit more problematic..

Hmmm

For my Guard, my Hellhound, this thing wins me games. Probably helps that my main opponents use Orks and Dark Eldar.

For the Orks, Lootas, its a Death Skull army so I partially feel obligated to take them, but they are also damn useful on the battlefield.
