Hey Guys, I started one of my Tactica threads over in the Tactics forum.

I cover things like how the Targeting array by Raw will boost our overwatch and snap-fire to BS 2 and how GW forgot to FAQ our grenades so that they get the new rules.

I would like to invite all of you to check out the thread here:http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/458910.page" target="_new" rel="nofollow"> http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/458910.page

I ask that you help to build this Tactica thread so that all Tau players will be able to quickly reference and to benefit from what we come up with. If we come up with enough material, I will try to work with one of you to make it into an article.

Thanks guys.

A Shas'el or Shas'o equiped with Vectored retro-thrusters gives hit-and-run to any unit it joins.

EMP grenades are just emp grenades, not Haywire. As such they can not be thrown and still glance on 4&5's and pen on 6. That was my point.

But hitting on 3+ and only needing 3 glances to wreck most vehicles makes them much better in this edition than they used to be.

No they cannot be thrown, only used in assault.

It says Photon Grenades are defensive grenade in the example in 6th edition rule book and our in our codex what more do you want? The EMP grenade needs a FAQ maybe but is simular enough to function the same way as a haywire grenade and I'm sure no one is going to through a nerd rage if you use them "counts as" in a game. It was a oversight of rules in an old codex, dont let this get your panties in a bunch lol.

EMP grenades fall into the "Unusual Grenades" category so are separate to Haywire and use the rules in the Tau codex (can only be used in melee against vehicles, glance on 4-5, pen on 6)

Photon Grenades however are defensive grenades and get all the rules for being such. So in addition to removing bonus attacks for a unit charging you they do grant stealth against shooting from within 8".

Just look at the descriptions of a Photon grenade and a defensive grenade

Tau Armoury, Photon grenades, first line: "A defensive grenade that blinds and disorients attackers with multi-spectral light and a sonic burst."
Main Rulebook, Defensive grenades, first sentence: "Defensive grenades, such as the photon grenades of the Tau, which emit multi-spectrum light and a sonic burst have dual uses."

I don't think it could be much clearer.

Photon Grenades are pretty clear so not an issue

EMP Grenades is where the issue arises and it needs a FAQ to allow us to throw them or rename them to EMP Bombs
