lol... only coincidence or are you recycling them? lol...

i think i will even print them out in a copy shop this time... to be on the aafe side.... whenever i get my a new ink cartridge it gets sucked out when printing good colored stuff...beside... i don´t own really good paper atm and spray glue... that would be cool to have too... tho i think i could get this rather easyly... i think i saw that in a shop nearby recently...

that's probably a good plan!

The good thing with a print shop is... you don't pay for mistakes

And it should still be cheap, at least here in the neighborhood it is.

RE: recycling

I don't recycle more than bits and pieces, but what I DO do is reuse the base textures i built up before starting the first piece so thing are consistent
For example, on the bunker I created a set of textures (concrete, metal, rust) first and used the same texture on all the pieces so they fit together

well if you have to buy good paper first and then the expense of ink... probably cheaper then in a print shop...^^ and you definitly get more paper options...

don't get me wrong, it'll work fine with normal paper, but it will be flimsy and wont last long heh.

You're gonna freak out if you zoom in on the fullsized pdfs btw, there is a lot more detail than the previews suggest, moreso on the bunker than the crates though.

by the way... since you mention it.... i noticed a small red dot...actually two on each crate? on the larger ones? i think this spot would be good if done a tad darker?... i know it is probably a knothole sideways but well it instantly leapt at me...

lemme go look at that. it's probably an artifact from the coloured texture overlay I apply at the end to create the tone variation (the crates were made in greyscale)

I've been following your work since you first posted on dstein's thread. Stunning work, very lifelike and well done. I'm going to dl and print out the bunker and replicate it in plasticard. It'll be a while before i get working on that project but once I do I'll make sure to post my results here.

i hope you are soon on daemon! built the first pieces of your work...

my son... aged six... looked at the first crate i did... and he said... dad... this is a very good looking crate... he surely has an eye for art and is very taste concious... so that was a very big compliment!

and here are the first shots... i sturdied the paper printouts with thick cardboard... i learnt the hard way that the printouts dont have enough room for the thicker material... thus i have had issues of my own design ... i need to come around that... the first barrier i tried is in no presentable shape whatsoever... and the bunker gave me some hard time too... and too of my own design... next time... less material and thus better looking terrain... by the way... the barriers and the bunker are missing the undersides... which i think are needed for the proper stand... just fixing them on a groundboard wasn´t what i had in mind...

any way...first go...:

i had to score the patterns so that i could fold it properly... this created big creases that you see on the pics... which look not nice... sadly... i have to work around that... the crate however is very smart looking and i even coated it with extra PVA so it is now totally sturdy as one could ask for!

during the working i have thought about what you could also build... as i am in the process of making my own table... and doing it in a victorian style... would you mind giving brickwork a try? and maybe steely floors too?... i bet that would look cool...

That makes it even better! If you simply slapped it together and it looks THAT good... wow. There's no excuse for anyone to have junk-looking terrain. Print that up on decent paper, glue it to some cardboard, cut to size, glue, play a game!

Daemonfae, you've got some really awesome stuff going here. I'm a 3D guy but this is impressive. I genuinely like it and I'll be using some of this on my current work (with proper credit when I do as well).

Wow Vik, they came out pretty nice! Thanks for testing my work!

You are indeed intended to score the card with a hobby knife to enable the folding, I think your material was a bit too thick on these attemps though
The idea is to just use some paint on the exposed card near the fold lines (If you want to bother of course)

The reason the bunker and barriers have no bottom is because they are intended to be glued on a little base (which you then cover with flock matching your table or whatever)

I hope your pictures will inspire more people to try out my stuff

Today I have made a quick flat crate with some metal trims on the corners, the full sheet has different coloured ones of course.
