Minotaurs. They're my favorite loyalist Post Heresy chapter, because of the sheer badassery of them. Theyre designed to kill other Space Marines. When two chapters were fighting, they just drove in and beat the hell out of both of them! (plus, insulting Calgar. Screw you Ultras!)

My favourite cannon loyalist chapters are probably the Dark Angels and the Blood Ravens. Dark Angels because... well... Terminators and Bikes. Plus they have interesting fluff, unclear motives (it is hinted that Lion El'Jonson was actually corrupted by Chaos, not Luther, but wasn't loyal to Horus, so he merely slowed himself down enough so that by the time that the Dark Angels reached Terra he would be able to anticipate which side would be victorious, and then ally with whomever best suited his agenda. Then, when returning to Caliban, he intended to turn on Luther and use the conflict to secretly turn the Dark Angels to Chaos. However, when his plan backfired and he was defeated by Luther, he cast the surviving "rebel" marines into the warp, where they remained until they succumbed to chaos, ironically turning the portion of his legion he desired to destroy to chaos while in turn strengthening the loyalty to the imperium of those he sought to corrupt. And that's saying nothing of the Watchers in the Dark and the supposed secret masters of the chapter). The Blood Ravens are also interesting. They have an increased number of Librarians when compared to the norm, and they also field are more focused on tactics than most other chapters. Combined with the amount of development that they have received for a non-legion chapter, and rumours that they were formed from loyalist thousand sons, does make them more interesting. As a side note, the ultramarines are a lot more interesting than most people give them credit for (I remember hearing from somebody that during the Great Crusade, Gulliman was extremely jealous of the Luna Wolves and Horus, to the point of simmering hostility. If this is true, it means that had Horus not rebelled, the ultramarines could have potentially fallen to Chaos at a later date.)

My favourite fallen chapters and legions are the Black Legion and the Red Corsairs. The Black Legion are the remenants of the ones who started the chain of events which lead to the current state of 40k, and although so far their Black Crusades have yet to be successful, there is the threat of the "big one" always hanging around the corner. The Red Corsairs are probably the most interesting non-legion traitors. I don't know much about them post-Badab war, but the war itself was quite when I read about it.

Space Sharks would be my vote.
• They get stuff done, no excuses.
• They don’t need feel the need to stamp their chapter symbol all over their armor or ride shark themed bikes.
• They remember Space Marines are supposed to be GrimDark.
• They fight in the blackness of unknown space for centuries without resupply against unknown alien horrors to prevent them from each mankind’s borders.
• Their leaders fight with their helmets on.
• They don’t need gimmicks to win, just a bolter, chainsword, and something to use it against.

Basically Space Sharks can be quantified in the following logical statement, ⌐Ultra Marines.

They do sound pretty awesome actually...I still vote Ultramarines obviously...but Space Sharks would appeal to me if they did ride around in jet bikes with shark fins etc...must be the Scuba diver in me!

They've been crusading for 10,000 years and every single faction who stands against the Imperium still exists? They must not be very good at their jobs. I kid of course.

Crimson Fists for me. Having their fortress monastery obliterared (by their own defence systems though), about 90% of their fighting forces wiped out and still persistent to keep on going and rebuild the chapter. That requires some badassery.

I shall rule the world someday utilizing my cuteness. And I already have one minion to help me do it!

Raptors! 2nd Founding from the Raven Guard. Think the Codex Astartes is nice and all but it isn't the inviolable Holy writ many make it out to be. Flexible and highly adaptive to get the job done right.

Ultramarines all the way. They've got a cool color scheme, and unlike other chapters they don't need some contrived "flaw" to be awesome.

Ultramarines - Getting the job done without the flair for the unnecessary dramatic poise of some chapters. Primarch was the only reasonable alternative for Warmaster. Creating paradise in hell. Bring on the irrational hate.

Death Guard - I like their style.

Imperial Fists, cause Dorn is my favourite Primarch, they're loyal, stoic defenders of the Imperium, and they spawned some awesome Second Founding chapters, most notably the Black Templars.

The Lion and the Dark Angels have been growing on me though, particularly the more I read about them.

My top 4

Black Templars. Awesome fluff, 40k take on Hospitallers (which have such a great aesthetic). The Crusading chapter that others wish the could be...

Ultramarines. The Roman Republic in space. It blows my mind how many subtle and clever homages to the Late Republic are the Ultramarine fluff.

Crimson Fists. Kind of a happy medium of Templars and UM. Broken but not bowed, plus they use my favorite unit (sternguard).

Iron Snakes. Depending on my mood, they might move above Crimson Fists. Spartans in space (when they were a successful empire, not that stupid movie about Thermopylae). They will be the next chapter I paint up.

I believe that the Ultramarines are the Kings/Queens of dramatic They are kind of like the aristocrats of the space marines. Kinda prissy but still learned.

The Raven Guard are well cool, mate. But that's the trouble, there's so many damn cool chapters out there, narrowing it down's always been a bit... tricky.

1. Dark Angels: The first legion, stubborn and intractable in the face of death.

2. The Exorcists:Initiates are possessed by a daemon that is then excised to make them better at resisting daemonic influences in a fight.

3. Salamanders: Come on, who doesn't like these guys?

4. Aurora Chapter: Two works: Armored Warfare

5. Black Dragons: Mysterious founding, have a mutation that causes blades to grown out of there arms.
