Bounding Black Templar Assault Marine

Parma, OH

My Imperial Guard army are the 45th Carpathian Rangers and are known as Stanescu's Slayers, so named after their commander Colonel Alexander Stanescu.

My 4 Marine Armies do not have nicknames as such. Jusst being generic Black Templars; Minotaurs; Crimson Fists and Crimson Lions.

My Orks are just Gobsmak Defftoof's Waagh.

Freiwehrkrieg 403 "Heinrich Kernish" after Inquisition Grandmaster Heinrich Kernish.

As a discussion grows in length, the probability of a comparison to Matt Ward or Gray Knights approaches one.

The Peripheral

I wrote a trilogy (loosely) on mine, unless somebody has done more than that for their armies, I take the geek award in this category.

Yes. A full length 3 novel series on my people.

I'm slowly sculpting a fluff for my Tau, as of right now the basework is that they are the "Damocles Eclipse Hunter Cadre", they got their name from specializing in fighting in the darkness.

Necrons;

The Hourglass Heralds, with their leader, Aktrophi, The Jackal King, Lord of Rust

Chaos;

The Children of No One, led by Renegade Lord Carcin the Black
The Eyes of Sanctuary, led by Radical Inquisitor Idhiel Irielta, also known as the Sorcerer Lord Ahramayav

Grey Knights;

Death Choir 404, led by Inquisitor Lord Demian Irielta and Brother-Captain Tomias Dunn

Fluff has always been a big part of what attracts me to 40k. Although I don't collect Grey Knights anymore (and my Chaos army is exclusively painted for the Children), I still love their background. Back in the day, me and my friends used to run long story-driven campaigns and write pages of fluff background for each one, leading to this whole web of factions and connections, hatreds and loyalties, that I still adore.

Hive Fleet Korigam
In-universe, probably the name of the first imperial planet they ate after showing up in the galaxy.
In real life, it's the korean name of the Pokémon Donphan who was the original basis of my colour scheme (they were grey with black carapace, have become a bit more blue with some orange weapon bits, more like it's lower form, as time went on). I used the korean because it sounded a bit cooler and less obvious than Hive Fleet Donphan.

Pointy Eared Bastards. The serious name has changed and been forgotten a bit too many times, but that one sticks.

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.

It depends upon how well the dice are rolling for me:

If well, then they are "the best"

If poorly - aka: how I usually roll - then they are called every foul word I can think of at that moment....

Blood angels are "Knights of Classic Lore." A lost founding of the BA gene seed. More fluff on my blog.

Eldar are currently called "Craftworld f***ing Eldar" because thats the only word I use when trying to assemble the arms on the dire avengers and guardians...

I was very new when I started painting so I just copied the box for the marines. Since shortly finding out everyone hates the smurfs my army has been named the Ultra-grrs.
They look just like ultramarines but they shout grr.

Not the Ultra-grrs, That will only encourage them!
For longer than can be remembered they have been angered by the the Ultramarines for copying their colours and having the cheek to claim the design as their own.
Although still loyal to the emperor they will never be seen allied with any Ultramarine unit.

I have no nicknames for my own forces. However, I've had my all-jumppack BA's called the "Jumping Beans" before.
