Under Psyk-out Grenades in the GK codex, it states that the grenades come from "...an extremely rare substance thought to be a by-product of the esoteric processes that sustain the Astronomican." It doesn't specifically make references to the Emperor's....excrement, but it could be inferred from that sentence.

"Much like psyk-out grenades, a psycannon uses an anti-psychic substance (some say it is a by-product of the Golden Throne that sustains the Emperor) to cause serious injury to targets of a psychic disposition. It is almost a badge
of office for the daemon-hunting Ordo Malleus, who make the widest use of this weapon."
At first I thought that it may have been a mistake by Mr. Ward to just change "Golden Throne" for "The Emperor" - but then it occurred to me that they are all so very much interlinked that you could indeed say it is a single metabolism anyways. Needless to say, this also includes the Astronomican, aka "om nom nom psykers".
I kinda always thought of the material as ashes left from the crumbling corpse of the consumed psyker.
they then put this into hollow tipped rounds or impregnate them with the materials of a projectile..all with offers of sweetmeats and candles of course

You mean the Arsestronomican?
Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

"You need not fear us, unless you are a dark heart, a vile one who preys on the innocent; I promise, you can’t hide forever in the empty darkness, for we will hunt you down like the animals you are, and pull you into the very bowels of hell." Iron - Within Temptation

Self-proclaimed evil Cat-person. Dues Ex Felines
Cato Sicarius, after force feeding Captain Ventris a copy of the Codex Astartes for having the audacity to play Deathwatch, chokes to death on his own D-baggery after finding Calgar assembling his new Eldar army.
The Imperium's new weapon against the demonic horde.
Sanctus Excrementus!
"When a world has fallen completely to chaos, the Inquisition resorts to deploying the Sanctus Excrementus, or the Great Mighty Poo in low gothic. Once deployed, the Santus Excrementus will purge the world demonic taint, using its holy stench, its sanctified effluence, and its magnificent tenor. Sadly, its sheer presence damages the very structure of the world its on, making it inhabitable to any lifeforms save for flies. Lower ranking have a (much heretical) nickname for such a procedure - The Excreminatus."

It's from Conkers Bad Fur Day, a fantastic, cheesy game from waybackwhen.
You can track down a copy of Conker Live and Reloaded for the Xbox (that'll work on 360) for very little, which is basically Conkers Bad Fur Day with improved graphics, and a fairly fun multiplayer (that I don't think really works online anymore...)
"Psycannon" is actually a typo in the GK codex. Ward actually originally intended it to be called "Psycolon" ammo"
True story.
Edit: I just googled ablutions and apparently it does not including dropping a duece. I should have looked it up early sorry for any confusion. - Baldsmug
Psiensis on the "good old days":
"Kids these days...
... I invented the 6th Ed meta back in 3rd ed.
Wait, what were we talking about again? Did I ever tell you about the time I gave you five bees for a quarter? That's what you'd say in those days, "give me five bees for a quarter", is what you'd say in those days. And you'd go down to the D&D shop, with an onion in your belt, 'cause that was the style of the time. So there I was in the D&D shop..."

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios
FYI, this Psycannon fluff was around long before the current codex. In fact everything except that which pertains directly to new special chracters and units was around long before.
Nobody knew about though because GKs were extremely obscure.

If I remember right in one of the imperial armours they state pysbolts are made from placing the bolt in a bowl and sacrificing a innocent pysker and having the blood pool around the bolt. They also describe how the armor is made but sadly I forget which book its in.

Actually, that was describing how the normal bolts are made, and also talked about throwing a bunch of pskers into a furnace to forge the armor. I can't remember the book's name either, but I know it's in 25 for 25.
