My goal for the end of the month is to have 6 pathfinders finished, and at the very least have a squad of dire avengers, a wave serpent and a fire prism basecoated.

My incubi are not getting built... in fact, I'm putting them up for trade/sale.

To replace that goal:

Build a Ravenwing themed Land Speeder Typhoon (doesn't seem like much but its plenty for being close to the end of the month plus having to deal with little cat thieves).

1. Finish painting my pre-heresy marines
2. Buy more pre-heresy marines
3. Return to step 1

“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

Lookin' good! Is the pattern on the hem of the cloak molded? or did you paint that in?

(BTW it's funny you mention 2nd Ed, because most of my CSM I am working on now are from that era. Then, of course I come across these and now I MUST HAVE THEM http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/New_Stuff/DEATHSHROUD_TERMINATORS.html)

For Jan:

Finish my ADL/quadgun by the end of the week (small tournament at my FLGS this Sat I want to use it for)

For the Year:

1 Finish painting the odds and ends from my friend's SOB army that I worked on. Just a handfull of arcoflagelents, spare immolater weapons, some IG HQs

2 Paint my spare bits. I've magetized a number of things, painted the primary set up, but never get around to doing the other options.

Like most people, I've got a lot of unpainted stuff, but if I can knock out those two things, my workspace would be much cleaner. Working on the backlog of stuff is a constant goal, but not a vow.

Molded, the level of detail on the limited edition Chaplain is mind boggling. It was a challenge and pleasure to paint.

I did convert mine a little, the banner is from the Dark Angels upgrade kit. I honestly hated those.... braziers maybe? Incense burners? Just didn't like those at all. The basing is also really basic, just what game on the base with a coat of ferrocreate grey, and a wash, the skull was done up in reaper polished bone, and when I finish my final loyalist model, it's going to get a light dusting of snow like the rest of them to fit with their campaign.

Right, got the vow done! All 7 plague marines, transport (rhino) and Typhus. I now have a friend coming over for a game and he is giving me his chosen models from the DV box set. Going to try and get them all done before I go away next Thursday

In the 8 days I have left I have to prime a crap ton of stuff. I finished up the bastions, 5 devs for my BT, all my DA stuff from the starter box, and I just have to base the blackwater gulch guys.

Nothing will get painted though probably. I will make that next months goal. Going to run out of time unless I go it all tomorrow night some how.

- play my first game of 40k!

termie captain is done!
Spoiler:

change of plans. rather than work on my night lords HQ, I went ahead and built up my defiler instead. I don't think I'll get any paint on him this month as I'm waiting for some stuff that's back-ordered, but he's fully prepped and assembled so I'm calling that a win for january :p

One more update for me this month I think, I doubt I'm gonna take photos of the remaining Terminator squad or Tactical squad. I did what I can to change them up from the original models but man... only so much to do with the Dark Vengeance models

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/491750.page#5218296

Annnnnnnnnd here's the chart:

An actual goal/progress chart for the month:
1. Sisters Repentia 9/9 - Complete
2. Tactical Squad 1 - 10/10 - Complete
3. Tactical Squad 2 - 0/10 - In work, first color 10/10, second color 5/10
4. Veterans - 6/6 - Complete
5. Mortis Dreadnought - Complete
Extra credit goals:
6. Venerable Dreadnought w/ all weapons options - Complete
7. Terminator Squad 1 5/5 - Complete
8. Special Characters 2/4

I don't have the DA Codex in front of me (or at all...) but I have painted all added 1140 points this month, give or take some change for the Venerable Dread's various weapon arms.

If I get my final squad of tactical Marines done I'll be rounding it out to 1335 points and roughly half my DA army, much more then half of the models. All that will be left are the Chapter Master, Librarian, 5 bikes and an attack bike.

I did however fail this month my friends. I had said I was done. That I wasn't going to buy any more models till I finished painting my two DFG Leviathans.... nope. I'd like to welcome my Necron force to the fold, my first and seriously this time simply based on storage space, last army.

That is not to say the present ones won't expand however

One more update! Finished the last tactical squad and the librarian, might press on the objective to finish off the last Termie squad, chapter master and start on the bikers.

Well, my WE Glade Riders are 2/3 done, in that the riders themselves are done but the steeds are not. I have to say that I spent way more time on them than I usually would, but I got really into the layering effects.

I will likely invest too much time in the steeds as well, but looking forward to putting them on the table and getting some feedback...

1) Finish assembling my 1500pt Ravenwing Army
2)basecoat said army and begin painting
3) plan expansions to deathwing army
4) research airbrushing

In theory 1 and 2 should be done by the end of the week....I hope
