Yeah, I can't see why people are complaining about the bomber. Even just looking at underside picture shows just how much resin there is compared to plastic.

Wow, I think both look super cool. I love the Necron flyer aesthetic and I think FW did a great job with this new bomber. The 4-tile "tomb castle" is also too cool for words.

Unfortunately, both are suuuuper expensive.

Can't say I'm a fan of the noticeable spacing between the Plastic part of the wings and the resin part. I'd have preferred it to be one complete unit.

But it looks great regardless. Leave it to the creative minds at Forge World to turn a flying croissant into a sleek and believable aircraft.

From the Storm Raven to the Storm Talon to the Doom Scythe to the abysmal Heldrake, it comes to show how much the recent GW plastic kits seem to be completely lacking in tail portions.

The spacing appears to be due to spikey bits on the Doomscythe.

Is it wrong that I saw the ROB tile and thought "This would be a great Malifaux setting."

I think I'm getting over my 40K addiction, guys. It is possible!

I like both releases. I actually waited buying Necron flyers as I will use this much more elegant model for it. Although it is more expensive than I expected. Guess that's the first ROB board i will buy.

I think I like the looks of the four boards put together with all the towers in the middle, rather than the setup with them at the corners. Looks nifty. Still a crapton of money.

The bomber is ace, I wish I could fit it's cockpit set up to my Night/Doom Scythe. It's not $140 worth of ace though. So is this it? No 'Cron titan as we were hoping? Pity.

This is not it. There's still a few things to come out--not least of which is the book itself. Only other definitive thing we know of is some kind of Ark/Barge.

Very likely there will be some resin conversion kits for infantry though.

Also, just throwing this out there:
Part of that $140 pricetag is the Scythe boxed set's $45 pricetag. This kit looks to be similar to the current Vulture kit, which uses a modest amount of the Valkyrie components but exchanges some key components for solid resin components.

Mesopotamia. The Kingdom Where we Secretly Reign.

I'm rather indifferent to the flyer, but that terrain makes me seethe with a need to own it.

Hmmm might be a good thing I have to wait to assemble the 20 'cron warriors I just got then. Also good to know there's more to come, I'm still holding out for a Medusa style Tomb Stalker

I must say I like the terrain. Damned shame it's on a giant piece of resin. The building'd be nice to have as a standalone. Weirdly though if I did get four I would have enough Monoliths to do that...

That's how they should have done the other plastic Necron flyers as well, no exposed pilot or even a cockpit.

That's how every Necron vehicle should be, not just their flyers. Integrated (ala Destroyers) or nothing at all (the ship flies itself).

Don't you have enough Bastions to build a small city? I am not surprised you have four monoliths.

Anyway, I like the bomber. Not enough to start a necron army, but it looks cool (and BIG).

No. I have enough CoD stuff to build a large city. I have enough Bastions to build a massive fortress.

To be fair, only two of them are built both because with my Necrons I only build what I paint and I don't know where I'd put the other two.

Awesome model but I'll never pay the price. I'd rather buy a Night Scythe at 20% off and make some wing extenders and find a way to bulk out the body myself.

I get that it's the entire kit all in one but in comparison to what else I could add into my army?

Those prices only make sense if any of the following apply
A) Have that kind of disposable income
B) Have no discretion with your spending
C) Only collect and paint as a hobby and don't play 40k

Any other play is going to see the price tag and go "Hrm... I think I'll just go buy the Battleforce instead" or any number of other units that will be more effective. It isn't going to be hard for people to kitbash and custom built their own variants of these and just use the rules on them.

Why is it that I can't see any of these companies being around in ten years?

The bomber is a lazy tac-on for the regular kit. Would have preferred something that actually looked functionally bigger than just bits on it that just make it take up more space.

To be fair, it's a complete kit (plastic Night Scythe + conversion bits), meaning the resin parts cost "only" £42.50. It's a cool kit, but not £70 cool.

I agree. Its very cool, and Id love to have one just for display...but when your talking over $100 USD...nah, Ill pass.
