Hah, I'd never seen that. But I don't think the hammer is just physically really heavy, it's that the hulk is unworthy, because that's how magic works.

If I had to apply logic to it (ha!) I'd go with the hammer makes itself SUPER heavy when someone unworthy tries to pick it up. You'll notice his arm still trembles when he's holding it, but once he throws it it stays in the air, and I doubt he could throw something he could barely lift that straight that far, so it probably got lighter the moment it left his hand. I dunno, just making stuff up now.

If anyone's gonna pick it up, it's gonna be Hulk.

Nah, he had a chance and could not, in the Avengers.

Theres a cartoon called 'Hulk vs Thor'.
IIRC, he does manage to pick it up in that - although as it's magic, Thor sort've remote controls his hammer which then bashes Hulk in the face.
He didn't go as far as shouting 'stop hitting yourself' though.

It's either that or I'm thinking of the avengers 'earths mightiest heroes'

My money would be on Hulk (if anyone)

However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.

In Earth's Mightiest Heroes the Absorbing Man touches Mjolnir so he can make his entire body out of Uru, making him very powerful. The side effect is that Thor has complete control over him, so Absorbing Man loses anyway!

That did make me laugh. A good example of not thinking a plan through...
