Like the Trygon?

Good old Trygon. Have very not so fond memories of that guy. I was Tau in a giant building on one end of the table, he was Tyranids advancing across the cityscape to eat me... he soaked up far more firepower than he had a right to.

That said, that game did end in an epic wild-west shootout between a single broadside suit and a gene stealer facing each other down on opposite sides of a streat. He was out of assault range by 1" so I shoved a railgun in his face the next turn last unit on the table.

Ok, I will let the thread return to topic now after that pointless aside.

Power rangers? Not really. The Wraithknight will look like a completely out of place toy in a 40k game though.

Its just an excuse to write rules for the baneblade and stompa in 40k to sell more models.

To be fair, it's 3" shorter than a Revenant titan.

To be fair, a Revenant titan is made by FW, which isn't exactly a company known for producing value for money kits...

The new models look pretty much the same as the old models.

The Wraith Knight looks a lot like Eldar Titans we've had models from FW of for... could it be years now?

I don't know why they'd look more like Power Rangers now than they did two weeks ago.

And I just don't see that at all.

That knight though...isn't that titan sized? Why is it bigger than a lord? Don't lords outrank knights?
I think GW is getting silly with their names...

Why does higher ranked have to mean bigger?

And did anyone tell Napoleon?

Napoleon was actually 5'7". Quite tall for the time.

In New Zealand it can be cheaper to buy from Forge World than Games Workshop.

Because they aren't getting gundam, they're getting Tekkaman Blade.

Funnily enough, you can probably import a Japanese model kit for cheaper, and of higher quality(IMO)(Bandai or Tamiya stuffs mainly...).

Eldar are masters tricksters. They prefer to do their shenanigans and make others races do their work for them, avoiding casualties, or, get them fighting so they can take their objective without problems. But guess what? Sometimes someone gets pissed off and actually sees pass the trickery and brings the fight to them. And that's why they need frakkin' Gundams, because like "The Heavy" once said:

"Heavy: [looking somewhat sad] Some people think they can outsmart me. Maybe…[sniffs] maybe. [gets serious] I've yet to meet one that can outsmart bullet."

Well, considering that they had an earlier version of that "gundam", as you so derisively call it, AND the even bigger one, long before your army existed...

on the forum. Obviously

The Eldar need heavy units like that because someone might see past their guise, and they would need something to back them up when everything goes pear shaped.

Let me put it this way; you are a cowboy in the old west, and are cheating at a poker game. Your opponent sees past your trickery. What are you going to do?

You're going to pull out your "hold out" pistol. More often than not it was a derringer or similar single or two shot weapon. If you really wanted something dead you'd take a pepper box. It's something that could be hidden in your sleeve and drawn quickly. It was also very small.

I feel the new Eldar wraithknight is ridiculous.

True, but the point is someone's going to die. Whilst I would imagine the eldar would prefer to use concealed weapons and more subtle means of killing, they'd still need something heavier to take care of heavier units.

I do agree though that the knight's size is a tad silly.

Of course someone's going to see through their guise when they've got freaking Megatron parked out back.

Webway portals and cloaking fields tend to be good at hiding things. Well, I think the Eldar have cloaking fields anyway.

Not by any use of the term 'power ranger". Not following you, man. I really like the new Eldar models and I hate all things power ranger. Not sure what else to tell you.

Holo fields. Quite analogous, for practical purposes. TITANS are written of as being quite hard to see at all when their holo-fields are active.

My mistake then. I could've sworn they had cloaking tech.
