The Stormraven is too fragile already at 200+ pts with only 3 HP. Putting anything in it just makes it super duper juicy.

If you do put terminators in it make sure they are thunder hammer storm shield. They are one of the few units that might survive if the raven goes down.

Personally I don't take the raven, I take the talon.

Don't forget you cannot assault out of reserve meaning if a raven comes on turn 4 with those terminators, even if they have range for an assault they cannot due to 6th and its game wide assault nerfs.

Short answer, don't transport more then a scout squad. Any good player will no how to deny you a return on your investment with assault elements. Even if every thing goes perfect and you get a T3 assault off, you'll probably lose your Raven and your enemy if he's worth his salt will just bubble wrap with a cheap unit or tar pit, and since termies can't sweep, your fethed thoroughly even by winning combat.

Can a stormraven carry it's own locator Beacon??? I watch this technique used against my sons Tau today during a Tourny we are playing today and tomorrow... I can't seem clearly verify that ability..

Thanks,

Ed

No, the locator beacon has to already be on the board. I like to put them on drop pods, then beam in terminators.

Fragile? Hit on 6's, immune to Metla, AV12 and 3HP? In what world in that fragile? Even Tau's Interceptors have trouble with them.

Well... I appear to be wrong again... Under the Wargear list for the StormRaven in the Death From the Skies book.. A Stormraven can be equipped with a locator beacon for 10pts... I missed that.....
