1500 points is almost exclusive to our tastes where we gather around where I live - and we usually play 2v2 matches... unless it's 2v1, when I usually volunteer for playing alone on the other side for gits and shiggles.

Chapter Master with his Honour Guard, ALL wielding Relic blades? With Cassius tagging along? The whole gang inside a Land Raider? Well, mind if I do!

My FLGS is rediscovering the joys of 1200pt games.

1500pts, at my FLGC we don't have the time to do bigger games than 1500pts.

There are two nights at my FLGS when we play 40K. Veterns Night is 1750 pts. Open gaming varies but is usually 1000 pts to 2000 pts depending on the player (some are just stating and have relatively small armies).

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I tend to prefer games around the 1500 to 1750 mark.

While I don't mind playing larger or smaller games from time to time I just feel that that points level gives a player just enough points to bring all the fun stuff in their army but still limits them just enough so they have to make some hard decisions on what to leave behind.

Double Fine Adventure, Wasteland 2, Nekro, Shadowrun Returns, Tropes vs. Women in Video Games, Planetary Annihilation, Project Eternity, Distance, Dreamfall Chapters, Torment: Tides of Numenera, Consortium, Divinity: Original Sin, Smart Guys, Raging Heroes - The Toughest Girls of the Galaxy, Armikrog, Massive Chalice, Satellite Reign, Cthulhu Wars, Warmachine: Tactics, Game Loading: Rise Of The Indies, Indie Statik, Awesomenauts: Starstorm, Cosmic Star Heroine, THE LONG DARK, The Mandate, Stasis, Hand of Fate, Upcycled Machined Dice, Legend of Grimrock: The Series, Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians, Cyberpunk Soundtracks, Darkest Dungeon, Starcrawlers

I have a KickStarter problem.

1500+ for me. Anything less starts to feel restrictive.

1500. Any more than that, and you lose whatever balance you may have had. I like having to make difficult choices about what to bring.

Not every army scales terribly well. Allies have alleviated many of the problems of >1500 point games, however. Double FOC makes things downright stupid IMO.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

We do 1500 baby, more points are a mess and some armies are served badly by it.

That was my magic number. However with fliers, I bump it up to 2000 so I can throw in a Skyhammer and a Aegis quad gun. I think fliers were a completely unnecessary addition to the edition.

I like to be able to include every type of forces from the org charts. And be able to finish a game in 4 hours or less. 2000 Is good by me.
