Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I agree with a lot of those....except Vulkan, Khan, and Lorgar. I think Peter Mensah would be better as Vulkan. He has a certain stoic regality that will smith lacks. In Spartacus, he was the immovable object in their chaotic world. For khan, I'd prefer Takeshi Kaneshiro. He has the jovial, yet clever way of holding court in Red Cliff that would make Khan a fearsome, yet likable warlord. For Lorgar, I have to go with Ralph Fiennes. He's got a way of being strong, yet unpredictably terrifying in a subtle, almost cerebral way.

I'd also probably say Karl Urban as Russ. Tom Hiddleston could also make a delightfully brusque Mortarion if you'd let Benedict cumberbach do Curze. Watching Benedict torture Peter Mensah would be both horrifying, yet almost....perfect.

Going by the pics in the best hair thread, I got a few ideas.

Rogal Dorn - Ian Mcelhinney (the guy who plays Barristan Selmy). I think he'd be perfect if he was slightly younger. Maybe use him in his older days after the heresy.

Ferrus Manus - Vin Diesel

Corax - Javier Bardem (with that No Country for Old Men haircut)

Yeah, he's one of only about 2 actors with that god-like level of stage presence (the other being Michael Caine), but I can't see him doing the epic combat stuff. I suppose you could do it like Vader and have 2 guys, one for acting and one for voice.

No. Jet Li does not have the regal, Mongol warrior, Ghengis Khan feel required to pull it off.

Personally, I suggest the guy who trained Tom Cruise in the film "The Last Samurai." Don't know names or if he's still alive or what, but he'd be perfect for it.

James Earl Jones as the Emperor, there's only one way that can end: 'Horus, I AM your father'

James Purefoy would be good as Lion, I reckon, but that could be because I've only seen him in stuff where he runs around with a massive sword. He's a great actor, though.

Adrian Lester could be good as Vulkan, I saw him in a play the other week and he got a great mix of compassionate nature and unleashed anger that would suit Vulkan well as I think there's some fluff about him reigning in the Salamander's rage but still being prone to it.

Here's some more (non-primarch) characters:

Hugo Weaving as Eldrad (I'm pretty sure he was around at the time of the HH)

John Hurt as Malcador.

And just for a laugh, some 40k ones as well:
Ciphas Cain- Rowan Atkinson
Jurgen- Tony Robinson (yes, Blackadder in SPAAAACE!)

Liam Neeson as Yarrik.

Benedict Cumberbatch as an Inquisitor.
