One time, with a couple of squads of Necron destroyers, I obliterated a large squad of Tyranid Shrikes from across the table, and because my opponent put all of his points into that squad (For some reason), he got assmad and ragequit, whining all the while..

I was terrified at the revelation that disgusting vermin that took the game that seriously existed.

Seriously, I was using fething 3e Necrons in 5th edition at the time, and this pathetic little man dared to complain about how underpowered the Tyranids are.

5th ed tourney. Abaddon and 5 lc tzeentch nators wiffed in close combat vs a generic cron lord and a max warrior squad. The fears were realized when the squad was wiped that same turn in a parade of 1s.

this is a close tie for when all of my deathwing got hit by the IG super missile... however I passes 23 of 25 saves.

You say you hate it but you wont do anything about it? What the serious ork?

Hmm. When Saint Celestine assaulted a combat squad of tactical Space Marines and whiffed her attacks. That was a heart-stopping moment, although more shock than fear.

Oh, I know. My first Apoc game with my Tomb Stalker. It got charged by Assault Marines who managed to win combat by eighteen without killing it. Cue eighteen No Retreat! saves... all of which were passed... but until then, it was a heart-stopper. Would my Stalker actually get to do something?! Yes. Muahaha. Yes, it did.

I was super gluing a model together and didnt realize some of the glue leaked out the other side so when I went to put the model down my thumb and index finger didnt want to come apart, very scary.

As I play IG and a good friend of mine plays nids, I must say the worst part is when his tervigons dont stop breeding and I cant kill the mothers fast enough. Before you know it theres a swarm in combat with your entire gunline of guardsmen. Yup very scary. Now I try to kill them as fast as I can.

I was once told of a moment that had happened at the place I played at a good time ago. Basically the two regulars were having a good o'l fun match. Bunch of models, very detailed and very nicely done models mind you were on the board along with obviously the terrain. Now the place has the tables outside so obviously you have people walking by and stuff. Even some just stopping to watch. Well this one guy had his little baby...Saw all the models and stuff so he picked the little guy up and placed him on top of the board to have him act like he was Godzilla...You all probably can see where this is going....He had placed the kid on the edge where it basically made EVERYTHING on the board go flying everywhere...The guy bolted out of there with his kid right away..Suprisingly enough one of the guys was able to keep his cool, aside from the vain that popped up on his head...

So ya that scary/rage inducing moment of seeing your very loved models and stuff flying about and risking being broken...All by the hands of some guy who wanted his little guy to be Godzilla...I heard this...met the guy who kept his cool...proudly admitted he was a bigger man then me because I would have snapped.

Focused Fire Warrior

Helsinki

Last week I played a small 500 point with my tau against CSM. I used a battlesuit commander, a full team of battlesuits with gundrones and two squads of fire warriors. The problem was that my battlesuit team with commander where deep striking but didn't want to come out of reserve so by turn two I had a single fire warrior hugging cover, three fire warriors getting assaulted by a helbrute and a leadership to take on the lone fire warrior. The moment when you realise that you have to make this leadership test or be tabled while only killing one enemy in return was pretty terrifing. I made the test and my battlesuit team came in and I actually won the game with one point but the brave fire warrior was killed in action.

I've only gone up against Flyer Spam once. The game was over first turn. He had one model hiding on the board and the rest were in reserves. His lone model did not survive.

^^ this ^^

Some get tunnel vision for cheese.

I faced an IG all reserve army with my marines, Vendetta and Valkyrie vet spam in reserve. He had a CCS squad hidden behind a ruin in a Chimera, for some reason he didn't realise marine players get half of their drop pods on turn 1.

I dropped my Plasma Tac squad of doom behind the Chimmy, and my Dread beside it, popped the Chimmy, heavily flamered the contents, rolled 5 2's, ignoring cover and armour saves = GG.

I guess that was his scariest moment ever.

Mine was facing two Mawlocs for the first time.. "they do what???"

Actually, this was one of mine too.. old metal nightbringer, I hadn't pinned him because he was pretty stable. Stupidly picked him up by his arm, which came off as I swung around to put him in his case, closed my eyes hoping to not hear the horrible sound of him breaking, that of course didn't happen. Broke to pieces, chipping lots of paint off.. I cried :( (not really, but I wasn't a happy chappy)

Well, one of my first battles ever was against a kid playing Necrons with waaaay too much time and money on his hands. In our first game (me with stock DV Chaos) he fields a monolith and is babbling about how he's going to counter everything I do. Should've been scary, but that, coupled with the fact I'm sure he bs'd a TON of rules really ruined that game.

That said, any time I find myself staring down Tau barrels, I get nervous. @.@

Would have to say was when I played a game of 2000pts. with my Elysians using the rules for IA82E against a Battlesuit Enclave list with FIVE Riptides all with interceptor and Ion accelorators. . Needless to say however my fliers zoomed in and thankfully only two were blasted out of the sky, the rest of my army mopped up his army as with Five Riptides he didnt have much else.

Pretty nice! Get ready for the new forgeworld Enclave Riptide that is even more OP than regular ones!, some people said they could fit 7 in at 2000 points

The Last Chancer Who Survived

United Kingdom

I once had a "use everything" battle that started a few hours before new year's day, 2011.

I was using Vanilla marines, and had recently introduced one of my frined to 40k. He had around 1000+ pts of orks, so I let him use all of my stuff, as well as some partially made scratch-built ork vehicles we'd been working on.

I had about 2,000 pts, his totaled somewhere around 3,500+ pts.

I gak you not, that horde filled a fething room.

My secret fortress at the base of the volcano!

One time, while assembling some models in my room, I was less than careful with a modelling knife, and the blade wound up sinking into my leg about 1/2" deep, at a spot not too far from my knee. I removed the knife, and dropped my pants to my ankles to get a look at the wound, whereupon I decided that I would be a man's man and just crazy glue that motherfether shut because a) I had the crazy glue in my hand already, and b) the bathroom with the band-aids was all the way down the hall. I succeeded in gluing my fingers to my leg around the injury, but the wound itself was unaffected, and seemed to be getting bigger with each passing minute (it wasn't, but it sure looked that way). I found myself forced to hobble down the hall, pants around ankles, with my hand glued to my leg, and the whole time I'm thinking that if I trip and fall down the stairs and die that no-one will show up to my funeral if my corpse is found with my pants down and my hand glued to my leg.

So that was kinda scary.

...But not as scary as that Ork Cheerleader.

I'm not sure if it was fear - more the sinking feeling of knowing you are about to get your ass handed to you on a platter.

But in one of my first games against the newcrons, lady luck had a total freakout and allowed Imotekh to blow all but ONE of my vehicles with his lightning. BEFORE THE FIRST ROUND. It was a mechanized Sisters of Battle force.

That run of rolled 6's was like watching a ghost raise from the floor, claws dripping blood. It defied explanation, and it only got more monsterous as the moment drug on and on...
