If they have a Eureka flag (It's our 'rebel' flag), they're probably an uneducated redneck.
This one:
If they have the Eureka southern cross as a tattoo, they're probably an uneducated redneck.
If they play M:tG, they have more money than a 40k player and even less sense.

Having a confederate flag on your wall doesn't make you a Tea Partier; but it generally does imply that you're an immoral person.
Or that you live in the South.

I was visiting my dad in Indiana a couple years ago and went to a county fair while we were there. They had a stand selling a crap-ton of confederate flags.
I told him that my US history might be a bit shacky, but I don't remember Indiana fighting for the south. His response: "they didn't, they are just rednecks."

As someone else already said... "speaking of assumptions"...
The confederate flag is #1 a significant portion of American history, and #2 while tied in with the horrible institution of slavery, is still an important symbol of the US and our courage to stand up for what we feel is right. The Civil War, and the schism between the states was about a lot more then just slavery. One could almost call it ignorance to think otherwise.

We had the tequila poster with the chick holding the lime between her boobs, Belushi in the COLLEGE sweater, stuff like that. And none of our pick-up attempts involved Stalingrad.

The confederate flag is a universal symbol for someone who feels antagonized or threatened by those who don't share the same opinions as them.
I don't see how you could associate it with anything noble or altruistic at all. You might as well wave a picture of a pouting child

This was my college experience. The pickup line that I used (and it worked) was while dancing with a girl, I asked her if she'd like to go back and continue the dance horizontally in my room. No joke, it worked.

I'd love to see someone dance horizontally; it'd be quite something.

Shockingly, women also want to have sex with people they find attractive.

Obviously it meant something other than dancing in the normal sense.

And what you obviously felt was right was slavery. So, to repeat: an immoral person. There's no assumption there. If you fly a confederate flag out of pride, you support the wrong side of the most clear-cut morality issue ever. No excuses, no mitigating circumstances.

I had a Joy Division poster on my wall (dorm room) at Uni for the year I was there. The "love will tear us apart" one. Right above the bed. At home it was a couple of Hildebrandt posters.
Nothing kills the mood quite like having this poster fall on you in the midst of canoodling.

I once got accused of being a Nazi for wearing a German army coat
And when I say german army coat, it wan't a WW2 era coat or anything, it was a fairly modern affair (the kind of olive-green ones that were all the rage around 2000-ish)...
And when I say german, it happened to have a german flag the size of a postage stamp on one sleeve...
And when I say army coat, I got it from a major chain of clothing stores (so really, it wasn't even an army coat, it was just an imitation of one)
Still, according to the chav I had to endure while I waited for my chinese takeaway, I was a Nazi...
Now I live by the immortal words of Igor:
'Do unto others, before they do unto me...'
