Remember kids, this is the internet. Just like that embarrassing photo you uploaded to the ol' instagram, FAQs are on the internet forever.

Google your book and the word FAQ, and you should find what you seek.

Tried it with tau book, didn't seem to work. Salvage what we can, children of the circle of the players of the game that makes sense, find those old downloaded versions and harbour them in safety!

I found Expunged data, that's what the link gives me.
So you get nothing! Good day sir!

It worked for me...

ok so as above, With the new website the FAQ and errata are gone, may be temporary, may be permanent...

What to do What to do....

Carry on using the current FAQs until there is a decent reason to stop?

The fact that an FAQ is no longer being offered for download on their website doesn't mean that all those people who already have a copy of it should just burn it and forget it exists.

This could be a problem for new players or for players who don't get much gaming time. Being a new player, if you advised me of a rule that was updated in a FAQ, I would have no authoritative source to check if your faq was correct - It could be a work of fiction for all I know (yes I've seen that done before)

I have an answer for you guys I think. Take a look at the new electronic edition of a codex. Quoted from the description of the new Necron Codex iBook:

"This expanded Codex includes interactive miniatures galleries, lavish colour artwork, and updated rules to match the latest edition of Warhammer 40,000."

So, you want the updated rules? Gotta give Apple som money too! =)

Does anyone have an archive of the FAQs? This is really problematic, given that I was planning on starting a Grey Knights army, and they have substantial FAQs.

My suggestion is that if you don't like what we're discussing here the simply close this thread and read something else.

I can't imagine this is more than a temporary glitch. They sell a lot of product that only has 5th edition rules and no digital version (Blood Angels, Dark Eldar)

They're still selling models that are (rumored) to no longer be in the game in about 36 hours. 'They don't give a damn.' is a fairly reasonable assumption to make when it comes to GW.

I am genuinely curious how to play the game now though. I don't see any reason to use the FAQs anymore. Honestly I never downloaded the things because I didn't want to have to deal with keeping everything up to date, I'd just look things up on occasion. I'm going to download the bunch from a wayback link, but I think a person can be entirely reasonable about ignoring FAQs at this point.

The way I see it there are 4 options.

1. They're clueless, don't realise what they've deleted and how important they were.
2. it's a mistake and the faqs will be added to the site again in the coming weeks (months....years)
3. They're going to switch to Digital only rules so they don't need the faqs any more
4. They're going to release digital faqs for free or not.

Obviously some of those options are better than others...

The way I see it, it's a thread about the rules effects of the deletion, along with appropriate discussion?
If you don't like it, don't read it?

Note to the reader: my username is not arrogance. No, my name is taken from the most excellent of commanders: Lord Castellan Creed, of the Imperial Guar- I mean Astra Militarum - who has a special rule known only as "Tactical Genius"... Although nowhere near as awesome as before, it now allows some cool stuff for the Guar- Astra Militarum - player. FEAR ME AND MY TWO WARLORD TRAITS.

Of course they are official FAQ. They are still the latest version of the rules.
It's just that no one can access them.

Nightscythes lose Invasion Beam

There are probably dozens of straight changes that have now technically reverted.

Scarabs and Missile Drones. Scarabs and Missile drones everywhere.

Soon every group will be playing by assorted house rules and vassal games will be decided by who can win the most 4+ to decide on rules rolls.

Someone will then argue that fateweaver's reroll can be used to apply to said rule; and so begins the meta-meta-game.
