It's only logical. After all, FAQ would imply the books are less than perfect.

Well yes kain we do have madness, there is now a rules paradox.

The print BRB and the Digital BRB were auto udpated when FAQ and erata came along, same with the digital versions of the codex.

basic example is the Hellbrute, its 105 in my print book and 100 in the Digital... which is now correct etc.

so in the grimdark future of 40k there is paradox's and madness

Well for the moment, I would go with the latest printed/digital printed rules as the correct information.

Unfortunately we're going to have to treat anything that was in the FAQs as obsolete now, so either revert to the last printed instructions or point values or go with the classic dice role to validate arguments brought on by this GW mess.

Note to the reader: my username is not arrogance. No, my name is taken from the most excellent of commanders: Lord Castellan Creed, of the Imperial Guar- I mean Astra Militarum - who has a special rule known only as "Tactical Genius"... Although nowhere near as awesome as before, it now allows some cool stuff for the Guar- Astra Militarum - player. FEAR ME AND MY TWO WARLORD TRAITS.

Or we could go with the latest that were released before the new site? I only have the ones relevant to my armies but I'm sure between the hobby community there's a way to divulge the information from the faq's. Does that go against copyright? I'm not sure on the legal issues but that seems like the most logical approach to my mind.

On a serious note:
I hope they get the faqs back on the page. The faqs at least make them look like they tried.

This is super interesting. Effectively, does this mean it's going to be cool to take Missile Drones in normal Tau squads again? Not sure it'll be that great since they can be buffed by a drone controller, but it is a big change to the way the army works.

But if they are more expensive, they wouldn't be everywhere

Many a CSM would be annoyed though...

So, Annoyed CSM players, annoyed CSM played everywhere.

Paladins, Nob Bikers etc are characters again.
Look Out Sir to any model you like.
Powerfield Generators work from within vehicles again.
KFF provides vehicles with a 4+ cover save.
Abaddon can now suffer Spawndom or Princehood.
Nightscythes lose Invasion Beam

There are probably dozens of straight changes that have now technically reverted.

So we're going back to the brave new (old) world of the 3.5 CSM codex, where there were 4(?) versions in circulation at one time.

So are we at the point where paper copies of your book are no longer going to be usable? Sounds like you have a mess for most players, never mind the stab in the back that is to LGSes since that's one more product they have that's now garbage.

And as an aside, is there a version number on the ePub versions of the book? I can't find one, so I can't really be sure that the ePub codexes I have are the newest version. Not even trying to play devil's advocate, just pointing out you have a situation that's at least as bad as the old CSM codex (when you had something like 3 different versions of Oblits in different printings and no markings to tell them apart)

Yeah its literally Armageddon for the game if the FAQs aren't put in place. It means GW has officially given up on trying to help us out in the slightest. It also means that the books are made flawed and you aren't getting any support for the price tag.

To be fair, they haven't posted a new one in such a long time, they probably just said, "feth it..." and gave up altogether.

Except iPad users are the righty-est because they have the closest thing to a link to GW.

I think GW just said "Community, get feth yourself. We're not here to give you free rule interpretations. We're here to make models, take your money, and then make up gak about the models in that order. I don't see where we are supposed to give you free rule interpretations. In fact, we've done such a good job outsourcing communication of the hobby to our lawyers, you don't even know ahead of time we made a new website (internet rumor sites don't exist of course, nor internal leaks) or whether free rule interpretations are ever coming back, so in short, go on our website and order our stuff for full price. We'll also toss in an updated model of an old miniature just to show you how much we have changed (read: not at all)."

Only one way to solve the digital vs print argument, fight it out! One side gets to use Ipads as weapons, the other gets to use hard backed books. Let's see who wins...

Remember kids, this is the internet. Just like that embarrassing photo you uploaded to the ol' instagram, FAQs are on the internet forever.

Google your book and the word FAQ, and you should find what you seek.

Tried it with tau book, didn't seem to work. Salvage what we can, children of the circle of the players of the game that makes sense, find those old downloaded versions and harbour them in safety!

What to do What to do....

Carry on using the current FAQs until there is a decent reason to stop?

The fact that an FAQ is no longer being offered for download on their website doesn't mean that all those people who already have a copy of it should just burn it and forget it exists.
