GW customer service is finally starting to send out replies about this:

GW Customer Service wrote:Thanks for writing in to us! We are aware that the new web store launched without the Errata/ FAQ articles. This is only temporary and these FAQ's will be made available again in the very near future. However, at this time I don’t have a time or date available. Sorry for the confusion, but I hope this helps.

I´ll be the first to say that I don't believe them for a second. I think they are outright lying.

Put up or shut up, GW!

I really hope this is true, but can't help but feel that this is akin to the rules questions & answers that you could email GW about. If it is then I'm going to have to pirate a digital version of the necron codex, because I am not going to buy the same codex twice. Until then my scythes will be fast skimmers again.

So until GW can get the new FAQs up, people with the physical Tau Codex can play Missile Drone Spam while people with the digital Tau Codex can't.

It's not like they retroactively vanished from existence, there are several people who have access to them.

Just because it's not accessible right now doesn't mean it doesn't apply. If you have printedout the faqs you have them.

If you have a offsite access (which people have already posted) . You have them.

GW didn't reverse time and make those faqs no longer apply.

To be fair, the same could be said for older FAQs/other removed items.

I have no doubt that GW will put up an FAQ page (or be forced to do so) so it shouldn't be like this for long, though technically with no current official FAQ there is none. As stated earlier, people have seen people forging FAQ entries and there is currently no way to verify their FAQ.

If you are forging GW faqs, then you need help.

There are plenty of places off site to get the faqs, I am so unconcerned with worrying my opponent is forging rules. Like what.

The Faqs still apply and people know what has been FAQed. By that logic until my Necron FAQ is officially on the GW website all of my Fliers are Skimmers now.

but people don't know what's been faq'd. questions come up here, that are easily answered in a faq.

For fliers, we can at least consult 'death from the skies' for the most current rules on them.

I'm sure we'll have faq's again by monday, so for the weekend, enjoy the chaos

It's a dice roll in the rulebook. What about Brother Corbulo's one dice reroll per game?

This is the respponse to my question on my local GW stores page.

You may have noticed there are no FaQ's on our fantastic new Webstore. This is only temporary and these FAQ's will be made available again in the very near future. We will let you know where and when these will be hosted very soon.

I would love to know if anyone is really going to pull the "faqs aren't official any more so <insert craziness>" in an actual game. It is a fun thing to joke about but why would people do that? It just seems silly.

as the OP - yes and no

My original point on my similar thread was if GW, as seems the case, are not going to bother than whats the alternative - talking to friends they said there is a much more organised response to the evolving WFB rules - I don't know much about this - but its not really present in 40k and there does seem to be resistance to looking at the problem areas.

Lastly - we have had some email responses (nothing to mine to customer services) saying it should be going back up at some point - but nothing yet...............and zero on when / if we are ever getting new FAQs for instance for all the recent codexes................

Nope, the iPad tau dexes disallow this. So now there is multiple versions of the rules. You want up to date rules? Buy digital peasants!

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

So I can intentionally use the hard copy Tau codex to give myself an advantage then?

And not to be too solipsistic, how are we sure that the e-version is the most up to date? We all know that the e-version is, but how do you actually show it? This gets doubly hard with the epubs, since there's no guarantee that the printing on a print codex isn't newer than the epub version. The whole thing is designed to be a giant mess until they get the FAQs back up, hopefully with some of the newer books fixed too.

As of about December GW Digital Editions is putting an "Updated" date on the last page of the codex.
