Played a game a few weeks ago against a guy with 5 Rhinos. We made the map into a city/urban like area, kind of like the maps you'd see in SCII. He clogged every street with Rhinos and blocked every advance into the city so no objectives could be gained. Vicious move, totally fun.

In the works

Warhammer 40k. Enjoy it or go play something else. Life is too short to complain.

Cheesy means something is too good. If you spam something that sucks, you just get a bunch of suck.
Rhinos don't suck, but spamming them isn't OP, its just a different way to play.

I see your spelling hasn't improved.

Try spamming Necron Flayed Ones. No one will call you cheesy.

There's a difference between "spam" and "using my main transport options for most/all of my army while keeping a mechanized list". Is maxing out your troops options cheesy then? What about 3 units of 3 Mutilators? And why even own 5 metal bawkses when you arbitrarily refuse to use them all?

Spam isn't cheese in of itself. You want redundancy in your army since you can't rely on one unit to fulfill it's designated roll. And with Rhinos you need to take a bunch or they'll be gunned down 1st or 2nd turn.

BTW let's not go around calling people trolls.

It is rude and off topic.

If you disagree with someone's argument, you should present some evidence to disprove it.

to be fair, no one ever believes the proof they're given on Dakka Dakka. I can go play test what Ive said here against the top ten Generals up and down the I-5 corridor and you know what someone would say?

"Anecdotal". Tell me I'm wrong.

So... Maybe opinions are as good as its going to get here, ill informed or otherwise.

You pretty much summed it all up in there.. Land raiders are ACTUALLY land raiders, but vehicles such as rhinos will still be glanced to death...

It's not that my chimeras got better, they just don't blow up as often. Therefore, my guardsmen don't die as often due to explosions.

First have to say I love your avatar it something my DE experience all the time.
When it comes to transport or let be honest any unit being spammed it only cheesy if its powerful. For example someone bringing 6 rhinos is usually considered OK but if you brought 4+ wave serpents a lot of people get really mad.

1 point of data is an anectode, a definite trend over a series of data points is supporting evidence.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

Since when does that stop someone from using the lamest weakest and most simple minded response in the history of DakkaDakka? Ive shown ample data points and gotten that silly response from some.

I have found that vehicles in 7E are harder to kill in 7E. I went from an almost transport free version of Warhammer (I have like ONE Wave Serpent and I never use it) to a much more mechanized version in 6th and in 7th Edition (My Adepta Sororitas are almost all travelling in shells now). Hundreds of games later I can tell you that vehicles work better than they ever did in 7th becauase there's only one chart instead of 2, and it takes a 7 to explode one!

I have ALWAYS felt that Land Raiders just aren't worth it, but that's because I have blown so many of them to kingdom come. But they are harder to kill now as well. Can't let up on em. You have to over commit at times to bring them down and thats just the way it goes at times. The guy who buys one, even if he loses it, is forcing a LOT of enemy resources into it and thats good for the rest of the force. Its the fluke kills that are inevitable that make me not as big a fan. I can afford to lose 40 points on a fluke. Meh. but 265? Yeesh.

zilka, I thought you had to sell all your Space Marine stuff when the new codex came out? Or did you buy all new models?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

To be fair, my 9-point Eldar Guardians are too fragile. They are constantly getting wasted by boltguns.
