We have a lot of diverse views here, co-existing through many arguments. I don't feel that you are capable of an adult discussion. I have never seen someone get so many people offside so fast, the people that do achieve similar results seem to have the ability to totally disregard the opinions of others whilst harbouring a persecution complex.

Realise that whilst you may think you are the big fish in a small pond, here on Dakka it's the reverse. People here are smart, people here are high achievers.

Yes. Texas independently rebelled against Mexico and was briefly independent, but the US was ceded most of Arizone, New Mexico, california, Nevada, and Utah after the Mexican War. Very technically the US paid for the land, but when you sign a treaty while a foreign power occupies your capital, you're probably not getting the best deal, you know?

To be fair, the land was very sparsely settled, and in many areas (texas and california most notably) american colonists were approaching the number of Mexican residents.
