Flyrants hurt, and are extremely hard to kill with marines this I agree with.

and eldar do that to most everyone. Rhino's are the worst transport in the game, its one reason I have hardly ever used them. :/

"but your marines can beat our dudes in CC" yeah, you try using marines and catching eldar troops. Have fun with that >.>

honestly as a marine, I fear eldar much more than tau, I have tied and even beaten the local tau player a few times. They aren't anywhere near as mobile as eldar, DS a bunch of CC units with a few shooty units into tau lines and you can have a fun day. do it to eldar. "lol, shoot, run, lol'

Tau have gotten harder to beat since they started bubblewrapping their marker lights with Riptides.

Many folk argue that this isn't the way to go, but Jump Pack Death Company with Bolters have me pretty excited. They're pretty much one of the only units in the game that can move 12", shoot rapid fire shots, and then assault like they've got a pair. The FnP is just icing on an already amazing cake.

It's not like DC with bolters are bad. But to me, failing a good DC charge due to slipping on a banana peel goofy style (a'hyuck) is a battle-plan ruining moment that has colossal ramifications in the following round. I would rather not make charging harder on myself by shooting too many dudes away.

Additionally, good opponents will go ahead and assault the DC rather than bend over for them, and the extra cc attack helps them clear themselves out of a combat they don't want to be stuck in faster. (Like synapse range little bug tarpits, for example.)

The thing with Bolters has one other side:
In the past it could work, because you'd have additional "attacks" before the enemy could hit.
That could kill 1 or 2 models and they would have less units to fight back with.
But now that we have I5 it doesn't matter at all.

It would theoretically matter against Eldar or Noise marines.
