Thanks for the kind words. Planning (or rationing...) is definitely required for the GW ruins - very easy to run out of floor tiles or to use up way too many intact wall sections on a less ruined building.
Here's some of the scatter terrain for phase 3:
Also got some base colours on the rolling fields (these are quite pale because they're going to get a dark wash)
You'll notice that there are too many (6 straight + 2 corners) river tiles - you're basically forced to have river running along one player's deployment zone. So I will be mixing this set with the clean streets set allowing me to replace river with road (in more versatile layouts) and add base plate areas to support larger military/industrial terrain pieces.
It's also worth noting that there are relatively few flat tiles. The only thing you can place on many of these are small/medium terrain pieces that are hollow bottomed. As such, the clean street baseplates will be required in order to support varied terrain.
Incidentally, if anyone's wondering, there will be a phase 4 which will be detail terrain. For example, I want some aircraft tender equipment (fuel bowsers, etc.) so that I can have an airfield section on the phase 3 table or a hangar section on the ZM table.

So what are you planning on using the clean urban tiles for? Just mixing in with the damaged ones or those specifically for phase 4?
I suppose that for me personally it would be better to get the clean urban tiles so I can use all my existing terrain and add some rubble to the tiles myself (or get a smaller set of the damaged ones to mix in). Will be a little bit more work but saves the trouble of removing buildings from their bases (and I wouldn't have to deal with wobbly buildings)

The clean streets are going to be mixed with the rolling fields so that I have the option of not using the river and to provide flat tiles for terrain pieces.

Flat Tile 2 (x4)
Small Mounds (x3)
Larger Mounds (x3)

That ZM board is so much better looking than my own foam core, plywood, and sprue one. Sigh... I wish my hobby budget was bigger.

It's a surprisingly hard thing to capture.
Also, lots of progress as you can see in the background. Hopefully we'll have EVERYTHING finished tomorrow (except possibly for a little varnishing).

You are spot on. There is a bunch of picking out of details to be done but there was a big push to get this finished for today.
Some in-use pics featuring my IG. (and my favourite illuminated smoke/fire markers) We're definitely going to need some houserules around wrecked vehicles as I don't like just removing them.

I don't like the new manticore much so I ditched the launcher rack to make a utility vehicle to hang around with the airfield stuff.

That's some impressive collection you've got and even more impressive the volume of painted pieces... True dedication to get through that lot. Particularly like the tarpaulins over the arvus and valk, great idea there

I never did show you guys what I ended up doing for tile storage.
Those handy 13"x13" cardboard spacers could have been made for the job. They are (nominally) for protecting vinyl ( LPs/records) in the mail and you can buy boxes of them pretty cheap. They are also really handy for spray painting, varnishing, etc. Automatically Appended Next Post: Another layout.
