I've dabbled with them. I have a Land Speeder Tempest and a Mortis Dreadnought. After much hemming and hawing, I've recently bought a Relic Sicarian Battle Tank, and that's the FW model I'm happiest with thus far. It's actually a decent fighting vehicle for its points, unlike Predators, Vindicators, or Land Raiders. Too bad about the armor nerf, but even with that, it's making it into practically all my lists.

I don't have any but thats because forge world is expensive and I don't really need any for my armies at the time, I do use forge world chapter tactics for my space marines however.

Also, I play anyone with forge world models! I think they look so great on the table!

I think they're fine within reason, i.e. don't bring titans to normal games or without prior notice to your opponent.

Is the hierophant considered that nasty? Last time I saw it's profile it looked really vulnerable to a lot of stuff.

I use a lynx and while it's good it's pretty fragile. I don't take a wraithknight though, that would be a bit much. I take hornets which are tbh really op, the pulse lasers are great but I find it's the AV11 and non open topped that makes them incredible for their points.

Got a cobra and a vampire raider but yet to use them, could take them now I guess but don't really see the point at anything less than 3k, probably 5k for the vampire raider. Tbh I think the lynx would outperform the cobra anyway for less than half the points.

The hierophant is a 1k point sink of a joke.
Nids have poor GMC's to say the least.

Too much SD getting thrown about to make it worth while.
I do on occasion run a harridan, but that's only due to its immunity of D blasts.

Other than that, they tend to get shot to pieces very quickly, have no form of strength D themselves, and are somewhat over costed.

Not that I'm bitter :p

I have no issues with FW units though and run my mechanicum army on a regular basis.
Really see no power difference between FW and GW units these days.

Just more variety now.

Yeah it's kind of ridiculous nids don't have some melee strength D. Harridans gorgeous never seen it's rules.

Is the Hierodule a GMC? The Malanthrope from forgeworld is worth taking mind with it's 6" shrouding bubble, I do like the Dimachaeron (sp???) too but haven't seen it used.

The Heirodule is a GMC.

It's also a weaker Wraithknight for twice the cost.

Avoid.

Got myself R'alai, two pairs of Tetras and scratch built a Remora drone.

Only the Tetras are actually good in game, but R'alai and the Remora are fun to play with.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

For my Imperial Guard, I'm basically required to have forgeworld to stand a chance.

So yeah, I've got HWTs that don't suck (rapiers) a basilisk that doesn't suck (Earthshaker Carriage) and a valkyrie that doesn't suck (Vulture).

This is so true. I use 1/32 converted german artillery as Earthshaker carriages and a converted Valk as Vulture. Without them, it's much harder to do anything.

None as of yet, but if/when I decide to start my IG, I will probably rely heavily on FW. If not for rules, then at least for the models.

Currently don't have any (oh FW, you cost far too much). But I'm planning to use them, and don't mind others using them.

Hell, from what I understand FW is the only way to make some armies competitive (CSM come to mind)

Yes. Nothing wrong with them. It's when people abuse them that there is something wrong. A lot of the time the only reason one seems OP is because the opponent doesn't know what it does, as forgeworld isn't as common as regular games workshop. Therefore, the opponent doesn't know what to expect. Simply ask what a unit can do and he strong it possibly is before the game. Any fun casual gamer will gladly let you see the information on the model.

They are a lot less open to abuse than GW models tbh.

My group is pretty heavy on the FW stuff. I personally only use Bran Redmaw with my Space Wolves time to time, and look forward to running Shadow Specters. But other guys in my group go a bit overboard: one, sometimes two fire raptors see the table top each week along with a slew of other FW flyers. Forgeworld knights are common (between two players they have almost 10 knights). Loth makes the occasional appearance for invisibility. I can very much see why people refuse to play against FW stuff. I more often than not refuse to play against it, just because the guys who do bring it bring the OP things (as you could probably tell).

I play Chaos. That should answer your question right there.

I use a lot of FW Units, Fire Raptors, Sicarians, Typhons, and a Lot of FW models for Special Units, MY Plague Marine Retinue for my Warpsmith is a Squad of Legion Breachers and my "Command" Rhino is the Demios Pattern to make it look different.

Plenty of them. Strangely I seem to only see FW weapons from other people when a Apoc match hits. But people don't seem to mind my FW units, probably because they are IG IA stuff which isn't really all that powerful compared to other things.

100% disabled navy vet, that invested his disability pension for the past 15 years. now im basically gaining double the income as im dipping into savings/profits and using that for this chapter build and projrcts about the house, like solar power that will repay itself in 7 years.. also helped that mom randomly found an old shoebox with some beta mtg cards that I sold a few of the power cards.

I'm building a Renegades and Heretics army, so I suppose that's a yes by default.

Here's to me in my sober mood,
When I ramble, sit, and think.
Here's to me in my drunken mood,
When I gamble, sin, and drink.
And when my days are over,
And from this world I pass,
I hope they bury me upside down,
So the world can kiss my ass!

I love FW model's bit cost prohibitive. That being said I have almost all knight patterns they have released and the chaplain ven. dread. My wife is the only reason I haven't gone all in on 30k though.
