The big problem with comparing anything in two different universes is that skillsets aren't really compatible. Would The Enterprise win in a fight against a Star Destroyer? That depends, can their transporter technology get through Star Wars shielding technology or not?
Would Harry Potter win in a fight against Luke Skywalker? Also depends. Can magic block the force/visa versa?
Can a Psyker calling up power from the Warp do anything to prevent a Wizard channeling magic from the forces of nature?

Though, in a straight-up fight, we CAN say that Superman would beat any non-psychic Primarch, but lose to any Psychic Primarch - His biggest 'Weakness' (Besides Kryptonite) is that he has no defense against magic, only against physical attacks.

The reason I think Kemmler might have a shot is that he's got POOPTONS of death to work with. Remember what Cowl was trying to pull off-becoming a god at Halloween? Kemmler could do that on a pretty-much daily basis with all the people and death in the Imperium.

I definitely think that, if you took him straight out of DF and plopped him against a Primarch or Big E, he'd lose, but give him prep time in-universe? Hold your britches, because it's gonna be one hell of a showdown.

He had to wait for Halloween to do that ritual, though, because you don't just need death, you also need to be in the right 'Place'. (In this case, the right 'Place' in the timestream...)
Also, if we're giving him preptime, then we also have to give Big E preptime, too. (Say, preptime to, I dunno, clone himself 20 times and then create an army of supersoldiers using the DNA of those clones? Seems like a good idea to me, at least.)

That depends. On who's territory are we fighting? If any other character from another universe were plopped down in the 40k galaxy with the Emperor the Emperor would win pretty much every time. They have no defenses against 40k's particular brand of magic powers so the Emperor would just erase them from existence before they could strike a blow.

If the Emperor was in a universe without the warp he would be an exceptional human but nothing compared to say Superman.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Not really?

There are beings in fiction who make the warp and everything in it look absolutely trivial and other beings who have defences against far more potent metaphysical attacks than the Emperor is capable of dishing out.

I'm actually reading that exact book right now. I'd say Gore, or any of the Higher's, from the Void trilogy would be a better bet.

Good man I'm re-reading it after a couple of years and I can tell you it gets really, really good (not that it's not already really good near the beginning!).

Haven't read the Void trilogy yet. Should definitely read that next.

Powerful wizards from most high fantasy settings could probably give it a go. Epic NPCs from D&D settings (Elminster, Raistlin, Vol), Great Others out of Night Watch, big shot Channelers from the Wheel of Time, that sort of thing.

Also if we consider that exterminatus leaves the planet itself intact but scour everything off its surface, and then compare that to the Death Star casually blasting planets into dust, I suspect we'd find that the Star Wars universe has superior power generation/weapons tech to the Warhammer universe. Whether that'd make a Star Wars fleet come out on top in a fight I don't know but it's suggestive.

This one's actually easier than it sounds, since Rowling has made statements to the effect that a muggle with a gun can kill a wizard quite easily (don't have a link but I'll go looking if you're that curious). If Luke's got a blaster he'll win.

Without the warp the Emperor would "just" be a Perpetual (even though we don't know enough about their nature, that may be warp-based), with a regular human's physical abilities. So if he trained madly, he could be ... OMG IS DEADPOOL THE EMPEROR ?

Me likey. Necron Tombship might be a match however.

I would put Felice from the Golden Torc against the Emprah. Alpha Type Psyker with "guy issues" last seen blowing a hole in the Mediterranean vs. the greatest Psyker of the Imperium...cool.
Dr. Who vs. Chaos... Daleks vs. the Necrons...

Is this Time War Daleks vs. Necrons or Modern Daleks vs. Necrons? If it's Time War, Necrons have no chance. Time War Daleks have casual time travel (capable of breaking the strongest time-locks), universe-destroying weapons, and the ability to actually fight the Time Lords (one of the most powerful sci-fi empires ever, even stronger than Xeelee and much, much stronger than Culture).
Daleks are a universe-level threat, I believe Necrons peak at destroying stars.

Time War Daleks vs. Q?

Q would win. Q also has universal range (and more, see below). Q is capable of changing universal constants on the fly, and I don't believe Daleks are capable of that without prep.
Q can time travel to multiple different possible futures and pasts, suggesting multiversal travel (Source: All Good Things...)
Basically, Q can do everything Time War Daleks can, on the fly, without any prep. If the entire Q Continuum is involved, forget it. Daleks get exterminated.

Frazzled, it's funny you mentioned Robotech since that's one of my favourite IPs.

Again, in a non-psychic engagement I agree the Zentraedi would stomp a hole in the Imperium. However, as witnessed in the show...any psychic power would turn the Zentraedi into mush (unless they're somehow so dense that psychic attacks wouldn't even work).

Then of course you have the Invid who would make an interesting challenge as well.

Breetai vs. a non-psychic Primarch? Done.

A more interesting matchup would be:

*War of the Worlds Martians vs. The orks of planet X.
*Necrons of Tomb World X vs. Vger
*Matrix machine world vs. demonic outbreak.
*Ghazgull Thraka and the forces on Armageddon vs. the Independence Day Aliens.

I guess if a changeling could take the shape of the emperor he could fight nearly all the primarchs but the ones' with psychic abilities, since he can't copy those.

Could the Borg assimilate a Primarch and consequently produce an army of them afterwards? I mean... they tend to forget their helmets so it's rather easy to get that tubules in place...

Damn, i was hoping for some Halo v 40k stuff here
Its funny watching a Halo Fanboy believe that the Halo Universe Could beat 40k

"I USE THE HALO RINGS AND IT MAKES A STALEMATE!"
"Lol Nope, Necrons and Daemons are Immune to it"
"THE FLOOD"
"Again, Necrons and Daemons are Immune to it, Heck, Given the Super Evolution of the Tyranids, they could also become Immune to it"
"PILLAR OF AUTUM COULD TOTALLY DESTROY A MECHANICUS SHIP!"
"Yes Because you believe a Glorified Hexagon could defeat a ship with a gun that, if it misses, TELEPORTS THE TARGET BACK THOUGH TIME TO SCORE A HIT, and even then, the 1st example of this weapon being used had an Eldar Farseer (who can see into the future) piloting the Enemy ship, IN THE MIDDLE OF A WARP STORM (which messes with targeting, A LOT)"

Ah, Halo. Where the main battle tanks have as much armor as a WW2 half track, the main villains use a self propelled gun as a line tank and the assault rifle can be thrown further than it's effective range.

@Robin

But they wouldn't have anything against warp magic. It would be like using a fireproof suit against a knife. But I guess that's more of a testament against how flawed the idea behind "VS" threads are than how powerful the Emperor is.
