Like zoats older fluff? Because the nids have undergone a pretty substantial re-write over the years. I didn't start until the end of 4th/start of 5th, but I have never seen mention of any nid genders and calling tervs "she" is a purely player convention.

If I recall, 3rd edition? I don't have the book and it has been a while. At least for the Hormagaunt info, I can't recall where I read the female tidbit.

More likely to be existing models.

What I want:
10 Horrors
3 Screamers
3 Flamers

(I'd buy two of these in a heartbeat)

What we'll get:
10 Horrors
3 Screamers --or-- 3 Flamers
1 Flaming Chariot

What they should do:
Repackage Horrors as Blue Horrors
Release a box that has 5 Pink Horros and 10 Brimstone Horror Bases

What they will do:
Repackage Horrors as Blue Horrors
Release a box that has 5 Pink Horrors for the same cost as the Blue Horrors.
Release a box that has 3 Brimstone Horrors for more than the current Nurgling Box

How has Wargames Exclusive not already done this? It's pretty surprising they haven't released some Kingdom Death looking Tyranid thing with a dozen boobs..

I'm right there with you.

Pink, Blue, and Brimstone Horror boxed set seems like a no brainer.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if the current box of 10 pink horrors was replaced with a box with 5 pink, 10 blue, and 10 bases of Brimstone.

Actually no, It wouldn't. At least a SC! using only Tzeentch basic demons is not viable: no big model, no leader. just tons of infantry.

The Tzeentch Daemons would have a Chariot, Pinkies, Flamers and Screamers. If they don't include the four the savings will only be about 10%.

Anyway, guys, as someone really interesd on starting a Tyranid army, you astrting to branching out the thread.

Termagant literally means "old hag", so their association with the female gender has been long-standing.

I'd like to pick up a couple Tervigons, but the choice seems a little strange since the Tervigon spawns, not transports 'nids. No tyrannocyte? I'd be all for tervigon version where you buy the 'nids and plop them on the field, rather than 3D6 poop them out, on doubles she's constipated.

I'd be even more interested if you can make a Tyrranofex out the thing.

Also, interesting no Taurox + Tempestus boxed set. Or a Land Raider + Terminators set, for a few bucks more...

The latest rumour from a user on faeit who right about the Iob Box price is that these boxes will be £35. If that is true the discounts will range from around 8% for the orks and dark elder to around 35% for the necrons and Nids.

No arguments there, BrookM, just when looking at the range offered it seemed an odd exclusion.

If the price is right the Tyranid box could be a good jumping off point, since it has things I want (gaunts and tervigon!).

If this https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Genestealer-Cults-Armoured-Claw is 55$ shouldn't the IG box set with the exact same models (except the GSC converting spruce) be the same price or lower?

For some of those, that's a pretty good deal. The SM, for example, are what? $77.50 separately? so ~30% off?

You know, I could see building an army out of some of these. For example,

6 of the Space Marine box would yield 6 pods, and 60 tactical.
Buy 3 more pods and 30 Sternguard for a first company task-force. Pick up your favorite HQ choice, and two boxes of Devastator Centurions. 2 squads of Bikes, or a couple of Landspeeders.

There you go, 1850 ready to punch your opponent right in the face with 9 pods, 5 on turn one! Scouting bikes, and grav-centurions for the extra hurt.

The tyrannid one is definitely the runaway best deal. It's like the Seraphon start collecting box. Basically just "buy this big monster and get this other stuff free" boxes.

The biggest savings is actually on the Dark Angels set since it has a Tactical Squad, a Rhino, and a Dark Angels Upgrade sprue. MSRP for all of that is $90.75, so it edges the Tyranids box out in terms of savings. They effectively do the same thing, buy one (in this case, a Dark Angels Tactical Squad, not just a regular Tactical Squad), get one free.

Fair enough. I forgot to include the cost of the DA upgrade sprue in there, indeed. A few more sets like this would be great.

Also need to factor in usefulness imo.

All the SM variants are solid but stuff like Eldar is both a poor value for your money and in game.

IG has a cheaper 10 man unit which is both of poor quality (sculpts are super old, boring options and have tons of mold lines) and a chimera.. meh.

Dont know if you are serious or just snarky, but I must admit it sounds plausible to me. And because these can be used in AoS, I can even see them making new 50mm tall pink horrors sold i boxes of 3. In any case, the horrors were originally supposed to be blissfully mutating and manic (pink) just to split in to angry and bitterly cruel ones(blue), so the design of the current pink ones really look more like blue horrors IMO.
