Unless you're black- in which case it's just like being black in any other rural environment: total ass. But that's just par the course for us I guess.

I've made it a little goal to live in Crescent City at some point, tsunamis be damned!

This was awesome.

Perhaps you should try living in Houston then?

Good god, do we have to turn every thread into something about politics?

Indeed. this thread is not diverse enough for that. Get ye political posts to your own safe space! He we discuss TexMex curry fusion and which is better - saffron rice or Mexican rice with a nive red wine (Messina Hof of course)*

*Protip. Taking a wine tour bus to the Messina Hof winery with a sororiety group and a bachelorette party...awesome!!!

Where do you get tickets?

I have no idea. The wife arranged it. But wine tours are common via Fredericksburg.

I've thought about it. My uncle lives out there and the one time I visited it seemed nice enough. I definitely liked the price and comfort of the movie theater we went to. The only thing I didn't like was that the rolling open land gave me a sense of...uhh.. the opposite of claustrophobia, I guess?

Do you mean on the 5? Because on the 101 you'd miss Eureka/Arcata. Those are worth stopping in...unless you're black, I guess.

It's like the town from Gremlins, if the mogwai turned into hippes when fed after midnight.

Don't get out of the car in Medford, Grants Pass, Eugene, Albany, Jefferson, Salem, Lake Oswego or Portland. Just keep driving until you get to Seattle.
