Ah! Maybe you can clear this one up for me...

Is AOS Skirmish a stand alone phamplet - sorry, rule book? Or do you still need the AOS rule book and army books?

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

AoS skirmish at the moment is a White Dwarf supplmental rules set that, far as I recall, uses the core warscrolls. So in theory you need a Battletome, however all the AoS Warscrolls are on the website for free.

At present with Skirmish released like that and in the White Dwarf its clearly being aimed at current AoS players and GW customers. Ergo people who are already customers of GW products.

I see it that Gw is going to use this to build a fanbase for Skirmish within its own ranks. Then once they've released more Battletomes and cleaned up the AoS line much like they have 40K; we will see them release a separate and refined and more detailed Skirmish rules set as its own thing. Much like they've done for Killteam.

Advertising it and using it as a springboard product for new customers to get into AoS. Whilst at the same time they will have already built a skirmish fanbase within their own current customers so that new customers will find it easier to get games and get involved.

Skirmish being released as its own thing right now wouldn't make much sense because the new gamers might get into Free Peoples, Darkling Covens or any one of a number of the other "sub" Factions that don't have a battletome and no clear easy way to expand into AoS and might even have models go away or get changed as GW rolls out more Battletomes. That isn't good for the gamer and its not good for GW.

I do wish Shadow War was a brand in the same way Warhammer Underworlds was, but I doubt we'll ever see that again. Kill-Team has replaced it.

And it was a main-line release anyway, not Specialist.

Skirmish is too half-assed a product to be a good starting game like Kill Team. Kill Team is well done with a lot of thought, work, and money put into it. Skirmish is a bit like somebody's weekend experiment.

Personally I would love to see Skirmish fleshed out properly, but I do worry if they(GW) are afraid that it might confuse people as they technically have an AoS skirmish game in Warhammer Underworld(even though it is a completely different system).

Battlefleet Gothic will probably start out as heresy. Keeping it heresy means GW can "finish" the product even if it doesn't sell well. If it sells well then I can imagine they might expand it into non-heresy. I am also wondering how the BFG digital games have been doing.

Other stuff I do imagine we will see more Blackstone Fortress stuff. Maybe a revival of Warhammer Quest for AoS with new box sets there.

Adeptus Titanicus

1. Remaining weapons all out by the end of the year. Whether plastic or resin.
2. Nemesis Warbringer Titan
3. Warrior Titan (has been mentioned in both Imperator: Wrath of the Omnissiah and Titandeath so far. Speculating that means there are least concepts/mock ups of it around for those books?)
4. More terrain/boards.
5. Very outside chance that by this time next year, Xenos Titan will have been at least mentioned as on the way

1. Yes
2. Sadly, no. They say this is 1-2 years out according to their current AT road map.
3. Both the Warrior and Rapier (Scout Titan) are possible for this year.
4. Likely
5. Again, sadly not. FW has said that Xenos are far down the road IF continued sales allow them to keep adding to the game.

It IS possible we'll get another campaign book late in the year, and I'd guess we'll get some resin variants of existing Titans

I hope not. Do we really need 2+ save or models that can cover the entire board in 1 movement phase?

yes cuz it would give SM terminators and other 2 wound elites/ troop selections a game they can actualy be playable in.

If it does, then A; it will be years away, and B; it will almost certainly be some AoS-ified atrocity even if they don't explicitly set it in AoS. I'd prefer they didn't bother.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if Specialist Games used Mordheim & Warmaster to bring back the proper Warhammer World, I just don't think they'd be allowed to even if the people running that division had the will & desire to try.

BFG/BFH isn't coming this year. They haven't even started it yet as of late last year.

I'm just hoping they manage to finish the entire Titanicus weapons log.

Is what I also figured, it's a shame that it's gone the way it has. Are there sourceable minis still or is the expense too much?

Oh the community is still active, the FB group seems to have taken over from TBMF though so that's where to go. There's a trading group for sourcing classic models without the ebay markup, and a few "garage" producers making models, as well as plenty of converting.

Necromunda
-They'll have about 3 or 4 diminutive releases through 2019. The most exciting thing that might happen is a new gang. It wont be Arbites, despite people begging for it otherwise.

Blood Bowl
-Maybe about 6 releases through the year, one every other month. New teams like Lizardmen (that might actually get me into the game) will be released along with more Spike magazines and big units.

Titanicus
-They'll fill the line out, and once they're done, promptly forget about it save for the odd supplement that gives you some extra missions to play or more terrain to use.

Kill Team
-White Dwarf and other releases will give us a steady release of updates for Kill Team. A couple more Killzones will come out and there will likely be a new Starter Box to replace the old one, probably involving the new Chaos Marines that are imminent.

The card packs are always an oddity - GW seems to like making them for launches but then makes them limited print runs. It's a nightmare for games that rely on them and I still can't quite work out why GW doesn't either abandon them or come up with a way to viably keep them on order for the duration of the game.

Last Change To Buy doesnt mean "restock". It means "last chance to buy".

Now apparently on the stream they said it was a supplier issue that they're trying to fix, so I suspect that they're taking the safest option and putting them on LC2B in case they can't resolve the supply issue.

I really wish they'd communicated that on their main news outlet not in a podcast stream. Just because podcasts are long and not everyone listens to them and information can get lost within them.

That said if its supplier (I assume card printing) it does sound like a sensible option to last chance them if they can't get renewed prints in a timely fashion. GW I think avoids, as much as possible, dangling a carrot before the horse without being able to give the carrot to the horse.
Ergo they are really careful about not promising anything that won't 100% certainly come. It's a sensible marketing move, even if at times like this it can result in some very odd behaviour (and possibly should have been adjusted though its likely a limitation of the store only having 4 settings - sale, restock, last chance and gone
