Thanks for the feedback! Yes, should remove a little bit of the torso below the chestplate. Took the midriff from a (almost) truescale mini, maybe that's why it is off.

This is what I used for proportions:

It's the sort of thing I'd never notice on a table top but when we get close ups it jumps out. It might also be because the waist is so thin it looks more snake like.

Yes, I often see mistakes on my pics I'd never have recognized at the model itself. Cut her up and redid the abdomen with GS, which is now slightly shorter and the waist is wider, too. Not sure if it's significantly better.

Much better!

Not that the first version was bad per se, but this is a clear improvement!

I missed the first version's debut, but v2 is looking quite good. Much respect for going back and doing such a rework on a finished mini.

Thanks. Didn't take that long and I like it better. Always willing to improve things, at least those I can.

As with your other work I'm really impressed. They look stunning. Also thanks for the tutorial on the bases. I also really like the variatipns of skintones, which gives the whole gang a really nice diversity.

Which colors so you use for your darker skin tones?

Thank you, Pyroalchi. Was loosely inspired by the mixed teams in Predator as well as Aliens and Predators (2010) and wanted to try out some variety in skin tones.

The darkest skin tone is a base of medium brown (some old Woodland Brown Battlefront 383 to be exact). Then a dark brown wash (homemade from 1 Euro brown acrylic bought at KIK, watered down, added a tiny drop of black (also KIK or Tedi) and a tiny drop of dish washer). The shadows are the dark brown from KIK with some added black for the deepest shadows. The highlights are the 383 with added Sand color (craft store, Vallejo 70.876 Brown Sand looks the same) for the brighter highlights.

Nice work as always Max Moray.

Just scrolled through from the beginning, nice work on those gals, painting skin is always a double-edged blade, but you did it well and with cool variations on skin tones.

Thank you, CB and Viterbi.

Talking about blades... At this point the team seems quite limited with regard to melee capabilities, so this week’s addition carries a knife. Think she’s the Sarge of the bunch.

Phenomenal work here. Great stuff. I would say they make me want to re-watch Predator but I always want that anyway!

Nicely done. I would be interested in seeing how the team looks all together at this point.

Some new bases. Have to rebase a few older minis to fit the style of the girls.

Thanks! Always worth a rewatch... They don't make movies like this anymore

Thanks! They certainly look like they are serious about breaching that door.

One minigun per squad has been demonstrated to be somewhat insufficient. So, here’s another one. Also: freckles.

Mmmm, red hair and freckles and thighs that can crush a man's pelvis.

Should I add that to the description?

Finally based some Aliens (Prodos AvP 1. edition) and spoiled them with some gloss.

Think they could be fine opponents and scale up well with the gang. I just love the xenomorph design, the old design that is.

Nice aliens, although seeing them walk on two legs fells weird (although I haven't seen the movies in a long time, do they walk?).
And nice group shot that could turn into a fight any second.

Thanks Viterbi!

Those are drones. They are apparently the most widespread type of xenomorph alien and are inspired by the xenomorph in the original Alien movie from 1979, which indeed walked on two legs. They were called Alien Infants iirc in the AvP game where I got the minis from.

Got tons of xenomorph minis and most likely will add more here including quadrupedal ones.

More CC proficiency = double katana! Bet she’ll be a great addition to the team... if she survives this…

Much appreciated, youwashock!

Just composed this pic for the faceyourart bandwagon on Instagram and compared them to some of my older minis. On the one hand not much progress in painting quality if any at all to be honest, probably would have to invest much more time to get better (video tutorials, maybe ask some local people who paint to a much higher standard, more painting time in general). On the other hand I am happy with them (with the physical models more than with the pics) and that's probably more important.

Awesome work as usual!
What is the scale on these gals?

Character reads well, fits perfectly into the theme, absolutely badass!

The one with huge knife is my favorite!

Thanks, Mothsniper! She's my favorite too so far.

I'd call them '32 mm slightly heroic'. They are the same scale as GW's Sisters of Battle and Escher Gangers as well as Prodos AvP Ed. 1 (not 2, which was smaller for humans), Mongoose's Starshiptroopers and most of Infinity (the latter being a little bit more truescale). They are on 32mm bases, but most would fit on 25mm, too.

Chose this scale, because that's probably what I have the most heads, guns and other bits for. As well as possible opponents such as Xenomorphs, Arachnids, Predators, GW stuff and such.

32 mm, so they are primaris marines girls.
You talked about painting quality staying same. I was thinking same for my work, but I actually like it that way.
I kinda do not want to lvl up my painting because I like the speed that I am working at now.

The squad looks terrific- well done as usual! Very much like the collage of faces, 1) it shows the really broad rang that you are capable of and 2) gives me something to emulate, faces being my current (and has been in the number 1 slot for some time) area of attempt for improvement.

I think this lot are very high standard!

Yeah, they are towering over guard, but are smaller than primaris. You got a point with working speed... I wouldn't mind being a better painter, but if I need much more time, I would get even less minis done and I love building new minis, seeing how they come together. Within the time I currently would need to get a proper onehundred mini tabletop army modelled and and painted, the rules would have changed at least twice (or the game cancelled). Maybe I'll choose some limited point of focus such as skin or guns to try getting better in the future. Something that does not slow me down much, but still improves.

Thanks for your kind words, Meer_Cat. Faces are my favorite painting area. I am always excited on how they develop and how two identical face sculpts can look completely different once painted (I don't do this intentional, it's more like Kinder surprise for me). Have fun with your improvement and if you need a good reference for female faces try johnny_ks_wong. Amazing detail.

The head shots are cool. I think Freckles is my favorite. Maybe Sarge.
