Rhino pimped up Nurgle style

Going to try to do a Basti Master of Words and their sweet chariot this month:
(spoiler for sideboob on the Master of Words)

Turns out the Kodiak wants to be blue. I was originally going to have more grey in there, but I rather like the effect. I’ll leave grey for the undercarriage and engine pods I guess.

Progress so far:

@ Flinty: Really cool to see a Mass Effect design in miniature form.

@ ShadowsAndDust: Neat. I've never seen one of these painted up before. The Magella is such a weird design it could almost be something from 40K.

Wow! At first glance I mistook that for a movie still. Wonderful work matching the colour palette of the film costume perfectly.

I might try to jump in on this. I'm a super slow painter but only have one thing lined up on the theme so hopefully I'll be able to get it done by the end of the month.




The big goal is to learn how to paint decent fire/warp fire and not ruin the model in the process.

Progress happened last night. I think I’m done with base coating the front end and so added a few details. Using the nice big open spaces to play with airbrush effects and self printed stencils.







I also did the underside, but it’s just a grey/ black mix so not that interesting

Next up is to work out what to do at the back end. I think some orange stripes just to break up the open areas, and some kind of numerical Designation stencil. Then I think I’ll
Switch over to hairy brush for the engines and final details.

Been too excited about the new Drukhari codex, that I could not get myself painting any marines.
I was thinking about entering with a floating Haemonculus, but Para's introduction to the theme ( ing massive tank) got me thinking about an old conversion idea. Gotta think this through.

QAR: Really good work already! I second Para that at first it looked like a still from the film.

Flinty: Loving the stencil work! Really interested to see that when it's done!

Making steady progress with the Riptide

I'm going to try and get something painted for once, this mini is based around a 1:43 scale Soviet taxi. I wanted a staff car, because why not? Anyway, wish me luck, I'll hopefully get it primed this afternoon.

@jamie shred - that is pleasingly greyscale. Will it all be so subtle or should we be expecting some colour explosions?

@hotshot - good luck! The scale fits really nicely. Hope the interior works out.

Cheers Flinty. I use a fairly bright blue for accents and there will be gold too. But its mostly a black and white/grey scheme

WIP on the tumbler itself. Will probably weather this up a little more than it is in the film to give a little more visual interest and attempt to hide some of the imperfections in the design. (Personally I think it looks just, a bit odd?)

Will probably do a dot filter, some chipping and some graphite edging.

Bringing more Nurgleness to my Rhino. Want to do the fly logo on the top hatch doors in the personnel section at the very least, maybe more tumescent growths while I’m at it.

Made a little progress on my diorama - at least, I've got the base colours down for my Tomahawk, ready for lining, decals and weathering this week. So... maybe 10% of the way there

Progress with the next set of stencils. Closely based on a set of Tau-esque markings I found on the interwebs. It’s starting to look a bit cyberpunky but I’m liking it. I got a bit of bleed on the one at the back, but I’ll tidy that up in post





Still have one to go on the rear thruster pods, then I might have a go at some more realistic warning markings around engines and “rescue cut here” square thingies. This is fun and there are still weeks to go yet
