Looks like a couple more snuck out. (Huh, spell check does not recognize snuck as a word and suggests sneaked... but it does recognize Klingon as a word).

Anyway...

You can use this model for a while as a Dire Crocodile
Then later as a Were Alligator.

So I have had this guy in metal to be converted into some kind of cyber gladiator, where he's been sitting for like 10 years. Point being good figure and I have more money than time.

Harpy, so you can finally reenact all those debates in Dragon Magazine about how Harpys reproduce. (Note this was finally settled in one of Gary Gygax's Gord the Rogue books).

A *ahem* "Mocking Beast" which you can use to preenact that scene from the D&D movie.

Nathavarr the Ravenous, Great Dragon. Yeah I know how he feels, it's like when someone calls an 11:30 meeting and it runs to like 1. I mean who does that?

Agramon the Pit Fiend who I also have in metal. And I'm like 90% sure he's painted so I don't feel bad.

You should dump your spellchecker in the harbor with all the rest of its unamerican ilk, then.

Do we know how large it is? Out of curiosity. Crocodiles aren't exactly small and have a hard time fitting on an RPG map at the same scale as the adventurers (speaking with Pathfinder in mind here). because of how flat and long they are. But I'd be interested if the sculpt isn't constrained by a need to fit on a grid.

Lately they've posted dimensions for some figures but not this one I'm afraid.

Thanks. It's not like I need another crocodile at them moment, but I like to pay attention to Reaper for the odd, plain old animal they make. Always good to have a source of those and know what to expect.

Maybe it's a Pygmy Dire Crocodile? Or a Midget Were Alligator? But if it turns out to be large enough scale wise, then it could be a gargantuan pygmy Dire Crocodile, or Half-giant Half-Gnomish Were Alligator.

I prefer representative members of the species over rationalizing things like that. I try to avoid things like my juvenile delinquent carnotaurus who is even too small for an adult if you stick it with 25mm models, let alone go with a scale that's more popular these days.

The henchpeople arent packaged for retail. I think they're just KS leftovers, like the three Elemental Scions (which don't include the djinn for some weird reason). That set is already out as well.

If it's the same as the metal one I have, it fits pretty well on a 2x2 square base, at least diagonally. There's some overlap at the corners, but generally not enough to be an issue for placing minis around it.

He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Thanks for providing an impression of scale, guys. I appreciate it.

At that size I think I could find a use for the crocodile. Nice.

You'll need a 3mm little boy putting a helmet on for that scenario, too.

And we're back! This month is a return to form for Reaper with a crapton of weird random stuff from pirates to mecha to a gnome accountant you're pretty much guaranteed to find something you want to take home!

For starters we have some classics, beloved figures from countless fish tanks and Pirates of the Caribbean rides, skeleton pirates!

The great thing about Skeleton Pirates is that, if you don't want to use them as undead you can convert them to ordinary pirates with just a bit of green stuff. Simple really. It's like getting two models for the price of one!

Yeah they look like they're having a good time but won't the rum just fall through their rib cages? Why does that bother me more than skeletons walking around in general?

And one Fleshy Pirate, who can join your Skeleton Pirates with some quick filing. Again it's like two for the price of one!

A bat swarm, just the thing if you want to recreate the opening of Scooby Doo Where are You on the table top.

A bit late for Halloween but still a good figure.

I just love everything about these two. The only thing that could be better is if the treasure chest was a mimic.

CAV the 10mm mecha game gets some plastic reinforcements.

It's a nice gunship but the fixed mounted chain guns bug me, especially since they're mounted just over the crew compartment.

The Mastodon tempts me, I was always a fan of Macross' MAC II Monster, the walking battleship turret and this comes close. At 56mm tall it can be a robot support unit in a 28mm game with no problem. It even comes with several weapon options.

Similarly the 55mm wide, 32mm long Scorpion can fit into many 28mm games.

So there we are, some nice models, some mad ones and some unique ones. A good month overall.

I think the Skeleton Pirate with lamp & map, the lady with the big pumpkin, and the Scorpion mech are the winners there for me.

The Battle Barge Buffet Line

The mechs look nicely done. Is Dualcast some new material/method they're using like Siocast?

edit: Wow... Reaper's casting processes continue to multiply. Traditional Metal, pvc Bones, Bones Black, and Siocast (is that Bones USA?) I knew about but in addition to Dualcast (two of the others above combined?) they're also using 3d prints as well apparently according to their latest KS update.

In addition to injecting in Bones Black and Bones Classic, and our Bones USA Siocast process, some of the prints for Bones 6 will be 3-D printed miniatures. We have been successfully testing our new printers with some of our new monthly promotional models and we are very pleased with the quality and results.

I get covering your bases and making sure you've got alternatives in the current uncertain marketplace but wow.. that's alot to keep track of.

Reaper really can't just release a normal ass pirate can they? They have approximately 500 of them, and all of three aren't holding a chest, standing on a chest, drinking, or standing on a chest while drinking.

I suspect pirates spent way more time drinking booze and/or messing with treasure than fighting.

I know April is almost over but hey better late than never right?

This month's freeby is Tork, Bloodclub Bugbear which just raises so many questions. Is his name Tork who is a Bloodclub Bugbear (as opposed to what? Skullclub Bugbears?) or is it like Bloodclub Tork but they're writing his surname first. Maybe the club is not referring to his bludgeon but to the social organization he is a member of?

Anyway he's a nice beastial figure, a bit too cartoony for me though, he looks like the sort of fellow who should be giving ninja turtles a rough time.

Then we have a slew of Greek-inspired figures from the last kick starter.

A Mobil logo

A Hippogryph which can be differentiated from a Griffon in that the Griffon has the hindquarters of a Lion while a Hippgryph has the hind quarters of Hippopotamus.

A Nemean Lion which can be differentiated from African Lions by the shape of mane, the coarseness of the fur and the fact that it can't be injured by mortal weapons.

And finally a Cloud Giant who would make for a passable Hera, or maybe Athena with a weapon swap. Still no sign of the Storm Giant I want but hope springs eternal.

And in non-Greek news...

Mysterious cloak dude

Mystertious cloak dudes

Deep Gnome Rangers, I just love that their shields are apparently made from mushroom caps.

A Winter Wolf, which can be differentiated from an ordinary wolf but the coloration of the fur, the thickness of the pelt, and the fact that it can breathe a 10'x50' cone of cold 3x a day.

And finally 'Scrub' the mongrel man. Mongrel Men were an obscure D&D race that were mixes of whatever. 1/4 Dwarf, 1/4 orc, 1/8 deep gnome, 1/3 lizard man, 1/5 human etc. I just love that he's sharpening up a meat cleaver. And he has the best fluff text yet.

Chop's Skullery is a bustling kitchen in Brinewind that is open from dawn until midnight, at which time the shop closes up tight as a drum, and any hangers-ons are chased off with a rolling pin, skillet, or cleaver. A tight-knit gang of halflings, gnomes, and dwarves runs this business. This band of small fry tirelessly waddles about, cooking up great bucketfuls of tasty and nourishing chowders, skewers, and other popular street foods.

Scrub is the ugliest of the lot, a mongrelman who keeps the kitchens cleaned and cutlery honed.

The atmosphere of the Skullery is much like a beehive, with the workers busying themselves until they're covered in gravy and drenched in sweat; they say it only adds to the flavor of the food! All workers chide, kid, belittle, and ridicule one another as they work. Occasionally a fight breaks out, but Stub puts an end to it quickly, usually by peeling the brawlers apart by the ears. All workers refer to themselves as “Cousin” and all claim to be related, albeit distantly. In Scrub's case, very distantly.

So another cool month. Scrub definitely goes on the want list. Along with the Cloud Giant.

The pair of Mysterious Cloak Dudes were made in Bones White for part of the 2nd Kickstarter I think. I have them, and have painted them up. They've been helpful as cultists or evil wizards in everything from the pseudo-medieval world of Frostgrave to the pseudo-medieval grim darkness of the 41st Millenium.
