I was going to enter my own Triumph of Saint Katherine, but now I'm seriously thinking of selling my Sisters army to raise money for other projects, including either Old World Tomb Kings and/or 30k Solar Auxilla. So for a centerpiece I'm gonna have to think about it. I'll probably do Gobsprakk, The Mouth of Mork, as he's kind of a centerpiece for Kruleboyz in Age of Sigmar. I'll be sure to drop a proof pic here when I decide.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

I find your lack of faith disturbing! But if you need to part ways with your sisters, I understand.

Base is basically done, will need to black rim it once I pop it off the handle. I might also revisit the scattered rose petals once I get to the sister strewing them about. I suspect they are not going to get the black wash that the base did. Which I might be OK with. The fresh ones can be brighter. Realistically the ones on the base should not be dingier then the others, but from a focal point they should not be stealing the spotlight down there around everyone’s feet.

Nice sculpting, Lovejoy (even if I prefer the original short snout myself).

I like the base so far, Nevelon. What order are you going with for the Sisters? If they're bright enough, maybe the petals on the ground could be livelier after all. Don't forget that it's not just how you paint the respective parts but that the surface of the base will have the shadows of the models on it. Going too dark on the base colors might have the opposite effect of what you're concerned about.

As for me, mold lines are now cleaned. I've designated a few areas on the base as test areas. I don't think I should spray prime Reapers white PVC. Without primer paint rubs off of it fairly easily, so currently I'm considering covering the model in a thin layer of varnish before I paint it. On a man-sized model that would fill in recesses too much and ruin detail, but it may be viable on a huge frog monster.

I was going to paint the sarcophagus next, then the leader with the sword and shield, not sure after that. Oh wait, you meant order, not order. Sacred rose I think? White armor, black robes, occasional red as a highlight color. There are a bunch of them in my gallery. I hear you about the petals being lost in actual shadows. Might need to pop them out so you can actually see them. Probably will need to to some final highlighting once everything is done, just to tie things together and balance things.

wip on the glottkin, trying to reproduce (atleast the skin color) of an amazing glottkin I found online.

After I took the photo I brightened the top a bit with drybrush, looks pretty good in reality, photo's don't do it justice as usual.

The example I used (will do the bones/horns/etc much darker though) : https://preview.redd.it/9q8olq09kv551.jpg?auto=webp&s=b9cb3d58793815b383f9c653dfdeb56f12d6cba4

I'll do this thing slowly because rushing it will feel like an injustice.

I'll try my hand at this challenge. I've had a mountain of MDF buildings starring at me longingly for some time. Hopefully, this is the motivation I need to get a handful done for my kill teams to slog through. Here's what I will aim to complete:

As you can see, there is one completed 4-way intersection and a lot of other pieces in various states of ruin. Looking forward to this!

@Nevelon: The base is looking good! Makes me want to finally start the Sister Army I've dreamed since I was a kid. One year ago I finally bought me a box, but have not managed to paint them yet, as I could not decide on the color scheme. For some reason, it's the one army I want to "do right".
Maybe one day!

That being said, @ZergSmasher: I would otherwise be interested in a unit or two, but I think shipping to Finland would cost more than a box of new models haha

Three months eh? I think I can manage that.
I think I'm taking part with Belladonna. A model I have wanted to paint for so long. She might not be the biggest and flashiest or lead the largest of armies, but she definitely kicks ass in the Underhive of Necromunda.

Here's the proof pic (taken 4th of June). Along with one of my favorite John Blanche artworks (In the cover of the Hoven Cloof album), which I'm using as inspiration for the paint job.

Here's where I'm now. The axe was done last night:

Keep up the good work everyone!

I really like the colorpicks and freehand art on it. Going to be an eyecatcher for sure.

My progress report is that I haven't made any progress... and even worse, I've just bought a Halo Pelican dropship kit, and I'm desperately trying not to switch to that instead!

Funny, I meant to post an update an hour or two ago and now it looks like I'm not doing anything unless I'm being prompted.

Which is far from the truth. I did make progress, but not a lot. There's plenty of gap filling to be done and I'm only willing to do so much of that at a time. Wouldn't want to get overexcited, you see.

Right now the base edge is 80% done. I'll move on to the joints on the froghemoth when that's done. And I'll probably glue the model on the base somewhere in between since that will also leave gaps in need of filling.

Worked on the base last night. Not sure if I like it or not.

Planning to do an UV resin pour on the bottom level and trying a few new things.
A bit scared to do the resin pour though. But one has to step outside of the comfort zone every once in a while!

I have completed several key steps:

1: Contrast paint over the skin and robes.
2: Be reminded by the results that I can't use contrast paint on such large smooth surfaces.
3: Repaint with normal paint.

But the ground texture and glitter is done, the corgis have got their various skin tones on, and the painting handle has so far not dropped her head-first onto the table, so that's good.

I'm intending to join in on this, but I've just discovered I've done something pretty stupid. I took proof pics of a couple of Avatars of Khaine that I was going to enter one or both of, then I got down to starting painting one of them, splashed a couple of blues on it and called it a day. Then later, I took my phone to my computer to transfer pics, only to find that either the photos had spontaneously disappeared, or (possibly more likely) I'd accidentally deleted them. I have no idea how I managed to do that, I can't even piece together a sequence of events where I COULD have done that...

Anyway, I have other options to enter (including an older resin Avatar model and a truly ancient Avatar model), but I'd kinda just got my mind round completing the newer Avatar models and even ordered new paints for them. :(

Well, proof pics for the other options included, anyway. I also have a Mindstealer Sphiranx I want to do with mainly white fur, though I can't quite work out what other Tzeentchy colours to use as of yet...
