hey just thought i would let you guys know i am in the process of creating a 40k comic , got a teaser of the first page in my blog and in the fiction area, would anyone have any ideas as to where i could host it when done , possibly somewhere that can display a page at a time?
I guess a photobucket/similar account would be your best bet.
Have to avoid the spoiler right now...don't get my "fix" until tonight at earliest.
The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

Has anyone else here been reading Fantastic Four? I can't remember the name of the current writer but IMO he's killing it, I really enjoyed the Millar run, but if this fella is going to be the title for much longer than I shall be cancelling it.
Kirkman isn't it ? He's been getting, AFAIK, good reviews for his stuff.
..One of the FF is dying "soon" right ? issue is being polybagged and armbanded ala "Death of Superman" IIRC.
Haven't read any of his stuff, my only Marvel stuff at the moment has been the odd TPBK, mainly of the Cosmic stuff that Abnett and Co. have been doing. War of Kings was great.

I thought the costume looked a little OOT on that magazine cover, but I'm willing to suspend judgment on that and the lantern until I see them on the big screen.
@reds8n: So I assume you got the book? If so, check out my latest rambling thoughts...
Spoiler:
So we know that Dr. Hurt is at least somewhat immortal. He's some kind of doctor/scientist, and clearly one twisted MFer. He seems to have a knack for messing with people's minds and inflicting psychological pain, and he seems more and more to be tied into Darkseid and Apokolips.
So is Dr. Hurt actually Desaad? Desaad never appeared in Final Crisis, right?
He and Batman also have a kind of history with Morrison from that JLA run in which in an alternate future Batman had -- under Darkseid's nose -- escaped from some nasty machine Desaad put him in, killed him, and then assumed his identity.
Seems like the pieces generally fit, along with Desaad's absence from Final Crisis...which is kind of a "hole in things."

DEsaad was the on possessing Mary Marvel, which is why she went all twisted and fethisy.
I like the idea though, but I still think Dr. Hurt will either be Thomas Wayne -- Bruce's institutionalised (twin ?) brother of possibly one of the Dr.s who was treating him. Wouldn't surprise me if perhaps Darkseid/The/A Devil gave said person a .. nudge... in that direction perhaps however.
Maybe when Darkseid fell, his minions were dragged down as well. Maybe as time collapsed Desaad was dragged backwards in time and possessed either people there or I was wondering if it might even be him/someone then in another one of the cloned bodies that they were trying to grow.
Maybe even this whole thing is rigged so as to force Bruce/the heroes to restore or revive Darkseid in some fashion, maybe that's the only way or person they can use to bleed off the chronal energy/similar mucguffin.
You saw the guy in the wheelchair who warned Bruce... another version of Metron maybe ? Who can't speak due to "The War" and yet is somehow helping Carter "unravel all kinds of mysteries"...? Which presumably goes someway to explaining how he has created all the time related machines ? Is this Carter some relative of Booster Golds perhaps ?
During the ceremony they mention " angels and dukes of the dark side inferno pits".. and all the fuss about corrupting souls and so on.
Think we're on the right lines at least perhaps !

Gah! Yeah, you're right, that was Desaad. Ah well. That's this week's theory down the drain.
I thought the same thing about the guy in the wheelchair. Didn't Morrison put Metron in a wheelchair in his Seven Soldiers run? Carter Nichols however is part of Batman continuity from back in the 1940s and was in Batman #700, although maybe this is a reimagining of his background and where he got his talents.
The inferno pit reference was clear, as was the comment about having (from memory) "DARK science on our SIDE." And I think the casket may be the Ancestor Box, with the "bells" being its pinging (assuming it shares that with regular Mother Boxes).
Of course, maybe this is all meant to be more symbolic than literal, with Batman playing the symbolic role of Orion (as we previously discussed) to Hurt's Darkseid. And that thought gets me thinking about father-son relationships and whether there's something more to explore there. It'd be an interesting twist if Hurt was Bruce's father, but not the Thomas Wayne that raised him.
And here's a question...how does this all tie into the events in Batman and Robin?
Edit: Just did a little research on Thomas Wayne, Jr. Knew he was in Morrison's Earth-2 book (as Owlman), but didn't realize he was part of old Batman continuity. Hmm.
Also saw a comment on another message board that I think is subtlely brilliant. What if Hurt isn't immortal, but just using Nichols' tech to travel through time?

hmm.. maybe he bounces as some sort of reaction to Bruce's time travelling perhaps ? Every action having an equal and opposite/yin yang kind of thing.
I wonder if his use of the "time viewers" goes some way to explaining how he was so confident that "The House always wins" as he could see what would happen and plan accordingly. But Bruce, being zapped with the Omega timey wimey plot device was able to alter and escape this -- he can escape anything after all -- hence Hurt's surprise when his plan fell apart.

My understanding, at the end of his original series anyway, was that he could affect organics -- hi elemental version could and did anyway -- but that it left them "unstable" so he stopped. Since then/now.... no idea.
..man, I need to dig out that old series, Ostrander and Mandrake were a great team there, that was a hey day for the DC universe IMO. I loved their later work on The Spectre as well.
.. All that aside..I figure destroying the entire universe is somewhat more impressive than turing things into coloured kryptonite/whatever

Used a gorgeous little coupon with Things From Another World and have the following coming to me this week:
Azrael: Deaths Dark Knight TPB
Batman And Robin Vol. 01: Batman Reborn Deluxe HC Batman Battle For The Cowl Companion TPB
Batman TPB - Batman And Son
Bruce Wayne The Road Home Batman & Robin (One Shot)
Will make for a good week, as my Dark Eldar preorder with The Warstore's shipped too
Batman and Son looked interesting. Let us know what you though about it.
I read the beginning of Brubakers Daredevil run, the Devil in cellblock D, quite enjoyed it. It's been a while since I read Daredevil but it still works.
Did I mention I loved Frankencastle? Too bad he only keeps this appeareance for another TPB or so. :(
Here's a huge teaser/spoiler image from "Bruce Wayne: The Road Home" and the special Batman+Robin one shot about it.
An old friend returns in a big way...

Anyone ever read anything with FRANKENCASTLE in it?
No, but mostly because I couldn't believe it was in-continuity. However, it was because he fought Daken but was that seriously the real Frank Castle? Anybody know?

But it wasn't. Somehow MM keeps finding artists who work perfectly for Hellboy.
Anyone reading Haunt? It's new series by Todd McFarlane. I'm through 3 issues so far and it's pretty good.
I was. It's my least favorite Kirkman book. It's fallen pray to that Madureiraitis and now comes out like every 4-5 months. I've dropped it.

No, Kirkman wouldn't be doing anything for Marvel He's been promoted to the board or directors for Image for kickasssery. He's the only one to have done so since they original 5 Marvel Defectors founded it and the only writer too. He is my favorite writer now. Highly recommend Invincible to everyone or The Walking Dead if you don't like men in tights but I'm sure everyone on this thread likes men in tights right?

Now he's not, but he was writing the book a wee while ago. but it's Hickman at the moment IIRC.
..oh, I reckon it'll be
Spoiler:
The Thing
of the FF who dies.
Zatanna contineus to delight and enthrall, L.O.S is still pretty solid, and Batman Inc. was a good start, be intrigued to see where they go with the concept.
Latest "Fables" tpbk was good too, bit bummed out that it seems that the proposed TV show isn't happening.
DnA's Guardians of the Galaxy has been a blast to read -- I AM GROOT ! -- but I think it would have been a pain in the ass to read as a monthly due to the amount of crossovers involved.
Amazed to see that 2011 will, finally, see the release of a "Flex Mentallo" collection.. guess I'd best sell off my copies of the mini soon eh ?

Yes, it was. Frank got sliced to pieces fighting Wolverine's son. Then he got stitched back together by Morbious, who lives underground in a city of monsters.
But, sadly, he returned back to normal after 8 issues or so.
How the helll do you get turned back to normal after being an undead Frankenstein?

IIRC separation from a Symbiote used to kill the host. So much for that. New Venom every year! What's up with Eddie Brock these days? Still Anti-Venom?
